What the **** are you on about atsch I never once categorically stated that it wasn't ripped fuel. I've provided sources (far more credible than yours) that suggest that it's unlikely to have been ripped fuel. You continued to ignore these sources. You're now ignoring the next question,
I haven't conceded anything you mong. I stated that it's unlikely to have been ripped fuel, and have been consistent throughout. You just kept on using wikipedia and a body-building blog to state that it could have been ripped fuel. You have no credible sources. Your said that it wasn't a big deal, well it clearly is as it's being discussed years later. It will always cast a cloud of suspicion over Jones' achievements until the Richard Hall. You have no credible sources, all you have is wikipedia and a bodybuilding blog. I have provided accounts from those involved, and the letter from the commission itself. Why wouldn't Roy Jones want to clear his name Cormonger? His bout was almost ruled a no contest remember.
You tried everything you could to dispel the notion that Ripped Fuel very well could have been the reason behind Roy's failed test before conceding that it could have. Don't try rewrite history now, ******. How many times do you think you need to repeat "you have no credible sources" before it somehow becomes true? How many times do you need to repeat the same question that you and I both know I've answered already? Are you hoping for a different answer, or are you just too ****ing stupid to stay on point?
Here's some great points by aramini on another thread. As with Jones, he still had great timing in his prime for the most part along with high ring generalship. Not technical fighter by any means but smart with what he had in there. As much as haters don't want to admit it, roids don't give you those. Along with his opponent testing positive in Hall, not really cheating. Anything further is speculation though I feel he should've done more testing afterwards.
So what the letter says anabolic steroid. Wasn't andro grouped together with steroids back then, even though its wasn't steroids?
I disagree, steroids help you to train harder for longer, which will in turn increase your skills, speed, stamina and power, overall making you a superior fighter. Of course, Jones still would have been world class without them (which agrees with the point about ring IQ and innate talent), but you cannot deny that if he was indeed using them throughout his career, it would have made him a better fighter. Also, can you explain your logic in how it's not cheating? The other guy was cheating as well, but it's still cheating. Two wrongs don't make a right. It's possible that Jones was using steroids to gain an advantage for a prolonged period of time. First of all, there's no evidence that it was Andro, that's just an excuse from Jones' camp. He doesn't know. The Indiana State Commissioner doesn't even know, he only knows that Roy was found to have 6x the "acceptable" level of testosterone in his system, which means he either took Ripped Fuel which contained andro or he took some type of anabolic steroid. Roy says he took Ripped Fuel and was also using a nasal decongestant around the time of the test. The Ripped Fuel excuse is at least somewhat plausible, but the fact is we'll never know.
It couldn't be verified because Jones wouldn't submit to a follow up test to confirm what anabolic steroid was actually present in his system. Instead, his camp came up with Nasal decongestants and ripped fuel as an excuse. As for the plausibility of the Ripped Fuel excuse, Ripped fuel is an over the counter product, this is an account from Dr Goodman (a far more credible source than anyone on these boards). You don't know what Jones was guilty of? What method of testing was used, blood or urine? If blood, why would you need a second test? If urine, wouldn't he know that he'd fail?
Gotta love how this *** conveniently neglected to bold this part of the quote: "It is true to some degree that there are some kinds of substances than can be in some over the counter preparations that will break down and show up as a steroid..." ****ing loser. :yep
You've made a real idiot of yourself here Cormonger. It's hardly like I excluded the quote. The point I made still stands, that there are tests to determine what are over the counter products. Hey Cormonger, you never answered my question earlier,
Were those tests conducted? Obviously not, so the part of the quote that you highlighted proves nothing. The fact remains that Jones' failed test very well could have been caused by him taking Ripped Fuel with andro. Now continue to duck and dodge questions and tell me again how "unlikely" that is because some doctor said they "could have" conduted tests to find out for sure what it was, ******. :yep
Again steroids don't give you focus, mental strength, and technique which are vital in a mental sport such as boxing. Timing and knowing when to dodge for instance were Jones' specialities which aren't found in any roid. Also, both were cheating so wouldn't that be a "level playing field"? Both were wrong but we're not sure what Jones was or wasn't on as I said earlier, "anything further is speculation". Effects of roids in boxing is overrated but doesn't mean it isn't wrong to do them.
