I really hope Rigo and Lara get the opportunities they deserve in the next couple years because I honestly see them as the class of their respective divisions.

Cubans are perfect for the Olympics, but fighting in the Pros is different. Although they do have some great fighters in the Pros, there is no way you can say they are the best in the world.

It's pretty interesting that he said this but he also said that he believes that Cotto made a big mistake to get rid of legendary trainer emmanuel stewart for cuban trainer Pedro Diaz, who is also one of the best trainers to come out of Cuba.

A bit busy so maybe someone else would hunt down the interview with Roach when he talked about how great Guillermo Rigondeaux is at counter-punching as well as how hard it is to trick him (if at all). He considered him better than Floyd in this regard (for counter-punching which I think is reaching). But that's Roach's opinion. He worked with G but never with Floyd. So its just an opinion.

Cubans overall still have some things to learn about the Pro Game. The right trainer (which is hard to find in this era), time/experience is key to adapting and taking it to the next level.

Shame a lot of these guys couldn't turn pro younger.

The two that I like, Rigondeaux and Gamboa...I would say Gamboa has flaws in his defense while Rigondeaux needs to up his work-rate and combinations. Nobody is perfect though.
If you could combine the two fighters...damn...yeah, that would make a complete fighter.

Agree with Amateur and Pros are different. I never bought into the argument that just because so and so dominated in the amateurs that he will/would have dominated in the Pros.
History has shown this isn't so. Nobody knows until you go out and prove it.

It could be a Mental thing, Physical thing (to go the full 10-15 rounds), and/or Technical flaws that they are not able to overcome.
