why so many votes for Ali getting stopped!!

If he can't even get close to stopping Haye. He aint Stopping Ali.

A prime ALI KO's any fighter as Chinny as Wlad.

There are things about Wladimir that could trouble a prime Ali (well... his size/reach combined with good speed), but Wladimir doesn't have the inside game that traditionally caused trouble for the greatest. I have to go with Ali by a hard-fought decision or possibly a ko after coming from behind. I really like Wlad, but he just has never faced anyone on Ali's level.

Im not sure about that. . . I'd favor Ali, but just barely. . Wladimir is an amazing athlete - he's got very fast hands, and especially feet . . . Of course not as fast as Ali, but the speed difference really wouldn't be as great as some people might think

Since Ali was a true outfight, like Wladimir, it would be a battle of the jabs. . . Ali's was faster, but Wladimir's was harder, and just as accurate. I can see Wlad's jab, and 1-2 finding home plenty, though. . . But Ali's chin would see him through, and he'd JUST NICK it by outworking Wladimir off the jab, with tricky, fast combinations. VERY CLOSE fight, though.

That's unfair and untrue. I believe Ali would beat either Klitschko, but Wladimir was in a war against Peter in their first bout, and he acquitted himself and won.

I actually do think Lewis could KO Ali. . . But NO, you're applying a hypothetical triangle theory - LOL, exponentially worse than the triangle theory to fights that have actually happened. . .

But yes, I tihnk Wladimir, and Lewis vs. Ali would all be pick 'em fights. . . Close fights that I think Ali would nick due to fleetness of hand, foot, and overall boxing IQ.

I like Klitschko, great fighter, but Ali is simply too technical and hard to deal with, especially considering that his style seems like a direct counter to that of Klitschko.

to be honest, wlad, lewis, vitali win a very wide decision or especially wlad and lewis ko him late. holyfield, bowe win a close decision and tyson ko's him early. ali is ****ing overrated. he was always the bigger guy and intimidated his opponents. frazier had imo just average power and was able to hurt ali big time. what would happen if the big guys (not a dumb foreman in zaire, who had no gameplan) connect on ali and outsmart him?

I'd say the fight could go either way cuz we don't know how either Ali or Klitschko would match up with the others attributes. Most would say Ali would be too fast and technical for him, and others would say that Ali's size and use of the clinch would play against him if he were to fight Wlad and that Wlad would be able to either grind out a decision or stop him late.

"I think Wladimir would beat Ali handly" i should have stopped reading then but i could stop laughing you sir could be a stand up comedian i rate you up there with bill hicks brilliant but back in the real world ali by long ud over 12 stops wlad over 15 not even close insult to the greatest who ever voted for a wlad win. ali is better in every department except power and you cant hit what you cant see. Dire straits did a record called telegraph road that's the music wlad should come in to if he fought ali the greatest would see them coming all night long

who are you to call henry cooper a bum his left hook is widely respected in boxing and had great power trust me if that punch he hit ali with landed on wlad's china he'd need oxygen to bring him round. show some respect henry wasn't great but he had guts and heart and gave everything twice against the best ever.

    Good post.

As I see it; Ali never fought anyone like Wlad and Wlad never fought anyone as Ali. This makes fantasy match ups hard to predict. There is always a chance Wlad would get a nervous breakdown when the heat got turned on, but that only happened twice in his career. You cant take it for granted.

I would favour Ali due to toughness, creativity and having the reflexes to take away Wlads offence. But I think Wlads thunderous right would connect a few times. The threat of it, combined with Wlads reach, relentless jab and footwork to controle the distance, could trouble Ali.

Ali would just dance circles on this guy... Awsome footwork, stamina and jab... '67 Ali was untouchable with his reflexes... Close this thread... It's not even a debate
