:yep In reality Sven has more KO's on his resume as any fighter in history if you count the viewers :deal
Very true... The Reid debacle has probably done more bad for his legacy as when he just lost the fight to him.
I think we shoud at least honour him for what he really acheived, against the odds this shortass plumpster won a SMW title in a fledgling division with little competition. When the competition did arrive (Calzaghe and Co) he ignored them long enough to make four defences before he lost to Glen Johnson. 4 defences in a quiet division is not bad for this limited pudgy little guy, come on.
I think you got him mixed up with someone else... Sven had "slightly more" as 4 defences and retired undefeated* :good
oh yes, he certainly 'didnt lose' his title to Glen Johnson and retire in 2002 to become a pig farmer. well he did really the poor soul.
it's like a game at a carnival. KO this guy 36 minutes or less and you're a winner, and we all know those games are usually rigged.
Ottke was a very boring fighter but his style allowed him to always be in the fight very mobile very minimal, just jabbed moved the occasional right hand held I watched the Reid fight the fight considered the worst of his robberys and i only got thru 10 rounds or so but i thought it was close Reid though doing the better work kept the rounds some what close, close enough where the popular champ in his home town could sway them Reid had the ability to fight harder and win the rounds more convincing plus the deduction didnt help I heard from posters who actually saw the Johnson fight that Johnson lost leads me to wonder how bad these robberys were or if the reputation of Germany and Ottke just makes everyone assume its close without actually watching it
