Bellew is "over the moon". He gives his coaches credit, 100%. He says he boxed to game plan, and gives McIntosh respect for his credentials and punch and mental ability to dig deep. He thinks Danny is a lovely kid and great fighter, but it was his night tonight and he stuck to game plan and scored a good shot. He says he had to make a statement tonight following the loss to Cleverly. He says Nathan doesn't want any part of a rematch. Promises were broken, they'd agreed to rematch. Cleverly is trying to duck him. Bellew is trying to make a statement now every time out to force the rematch. He'll do it in Wales, he doesn't care. He is very humble, says he doesn't know where he levels off (as far as domestic/Euro/world) but says that he considers himself undefeated as a pro. He says that he doesn't even consider himself the most talented guy from his own region but that he'll aim to make best of the talent he's got and see how far it takes him.
There was a time when I hated Bellew, but that interview is another sign he's really getting his **** in order.
Watson vs. Cook was canceled yesterday. Watto is fighting Darren Hamilton instead. Should be coming up soon.
Carl Froch and David Price are giving mixed compliments to Bellew's performance. Froch says McIntosh walked straight into the punch, but still gives Bellew respect for finishing an overmatched opponent in style. Price says that McIntosh was barely Euro level while Bellew is world level. Paul Smith is interviewed at ringside by Adam Smith, and agrees that Bellew is world class.
I found him very abrasive in the early part of his career mate.Came across as a "scally" which is the Liverpool equivalent of a Glasgow ned,or a chav. Since the night of the Cleverly fight,I think he's really grown up.Really starting to warm to him now.
I don't complain about immigration. I complain about excessive numbers of fraudulent foreigners. Don't tar everyone with the same brush, some people can have issues with immigration policies and - shock - horror - not be racist. Note: Refer to India, China and Brazil. Combined they are over 1/2 the world's population and their immigration rules are much tougher than ours. Are these countries racist?..........
What a fighter And he DID beat Cleverley. I was at the fight and Everyone around me (not just scousers) and everyone I spoke to was under the opinion that Tony had the fight won by a few rounds. Clev came on strong at the end but Tony won enough rounds in the first 8 to take the win And tonight Tony looked better than ever, definately a class above British. Hopefully now gets a shot at a Euro title. What I like most is the fact he is humble and realises he is not quite ready for a world shot, although I don't think he would be out of his depth in there with Hopkins, Pascal or Dawson
