Cardle looks alright so far. Nothing spectacular.

Then again, I doubt too many look spectacular against the Peacock.

    Round 2

A couple of right jabs are put out by Greaves, before Cardle drives him to the ropes with a series of left and right uppercuts. Now left and right hooks clipping the upper back and neck as Greaves leans in against him to get off the ropes. Constant flurries by Cardle. Some creative combos from Cardle, letting his hands go and emphasizing volume over stiffness. Greaves is getting slapped around by the ropes as he puts his earmuffs on and leans in either direction. Greaves shuffles back and chops out with his southpaw jab. Cardle has an quasi shoulder roll stance, taking the lead and swinging left hooks across from his hip to Greaves'. Quick shots up top by Cardle. Whipping right hand delivered from the rear hip to Greaves' nose, busting it open. Greaves shakes his head. Cardle watches from outside. Greaves covers up and circles. Jab and uppercut by Cardle.

    20-18 Cardle

    Round 3

Nicely placed jab/uppercut combo from outside by Cardle, he really seems to favor that. Lead uppercut jumping in. Greaves is just lolling against the ropes, holding his arms crossed overhead and then looking to tie up when Cardle jabs in close. Now Greaves beats a retreat, circling wide to the left. Cardle watches from outside with that low-left stance, leaning quickly back whenever Greaves dares to throw a tentative right jab. Cardle follows with his hands down, chin tucked and gazing up through furrowed lids at Greaves. Big body shots by Cardle as Greaves tries to duck and step out of the pocket. Weak left hand lead by Greaves, tumbling forward. Cardle just puts a hand out and turns him, `ole! Good sportsmanship there, he easily could have punished the error and check-hooked Greaves' head clean off rather than just give him a "go on then". Greaves circles right and lands a jab but gets hooked in the face.

    30-27 Cardle

    Round 4

Cardle gives chase, easily ducking and slipping right jabs while landing his left all over Greaves' body. Cardle tries to get some hooking combos going on the front foot but Greaves is spoiling too much, flopping against him, pushing off, squirming out of clinches and running away. Greaves showboats a bit, hands in the air. Cardle jumps in and doubles a quick straight jab in his face as Greaves backs up. Greaves trots to his right, left, right again. Cardle keeps coming forward and lands a lead straight right, then some hooks to the body as Greaves is momentarily pinned on the ropes. BIG LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY AND GREAVES GOES DOWN!! The bell rings as he's beating the count.

Wow. Another twenty seconds and maybe Cardle stops him.

Ah, just realized Cardle's debut was a shutout of Sid Razak (who's a bit of a gatekeeper for British boxers in the infancy of their careers. Good prospects will beat him, great ones will look good, and poor ones will lose. ).

Scotty's off to a good start.

His manager joins in his interview and says they're looking to get him up to 7 or 8 fights under his belt by the end of the year. Wow.
