If Mitchell is such an easy fight for Burns then the question has to be when will Burns fight anybody decent?

The Katsidis result was put into context when the legendary Albert Mensah beat him a couple of weeks ago...

Nicky Cook, Laryea, Evensen, and Moses are hardly world beaters are they... infact I would be hard pressed to get any of them in the top 20 SFW's or LW's

Mr Nelson say what you like about Kevin Mitchell but he didn't jump a weight to avoid his mandatory and an ass kicking like Ricky did...

I assume Ricky will go up another weight if and when Broner decides to step up.

Kind of puts Mitchell's loss to Katsidis in even greater relief, doesn't it?

Kats was done after Mitchell by JMM and Guerrero. The Kats that fought Mitchell could pull the trigger whereas he was sliding by the time Burns had him.

You gotta admit that, surely?

 

check the forum polls on who was gonna win, ricky wasnt to make it out of the first 5 if he was lucky, rediculous to take that away from him now

 

Burns was the underdog yeah, by the bookies and the punters, that is true.

I am merely stating the Katsidis that Mitchell fought was in better form and a better version than Burns fought. It isn't to take away from Burns but Katsidis has been ko'd by JMM and dominated in a beatdown by Guerrero, he even campaigned at LWW in a match before Burns iirc so there can be an argument that he was tight at the weight coming back down to LW.

 

Don't see why - truthfully it was the same Katsidis in many ways. He's never been comfortable with better boxers - guys that could match his workrate and keep him at their preferred range were always bad match-ups.

Mitchell just wasn't good enough. But it's wrong to discount Burns win over Katsidis.

 

The reasons why are in my last post. His form into the Mitchell fight was good and is form going into the Burns fight wasn't good, JMM sparked him and Guerrero took him apart over 12, his brother dying and a move in weight didn't bode well.

Burns fought a good fight and credit is dye, absolutely. Just saying Katsidis imo wasn't the same fighter, he was sliding.

 

Fighting Nicky Cook, Laryea, Evensen, a shot Katsidis and Paulus Moses but avoiding the likes of Broner says all you need to know about Ricky Burns.

 

I'm not Rickys biggest fan of defences buy Broner fighting Sykes is a ****ing joke. Let's be fair.

 

Would Broner have fought in Scotland tho?

it says more about his promotor. i genuinlely believe ricky burns and his team would fight anybody. i dont see how the critics like yourself can blame burns, there's nothing really wrong with your point but it shouldnt be aimed at burns.

 

ricky burns is a class fighter but as soon as comes up against a boxer puncher he'll get beat imo sorry ricky
