A part of it has to be Floyd's way of "showing off" for the cameras and the viewers who are used to hearing of the serious fight it is for fighters to make weight. Floyd's way of saying "I got this all day" :yep
Floyd might not have the gene his uncle has. Diabetes is genetic not just diet. Some people never get any of those problems and eat bad their whole life while other people are more vulnerable to it. Floyd will be fine.
Don't be racist. Not all black people have low body fat percentages. Floyd is from a specific gene pool/tribe that has low body fat percentage but black people aren't all the same gene pool or the same tribe. Look at Africa and see what I mean. Pacquiao has that gene too. Pacquiao will likely never become overweight or obese.
Is this gene in charge of metabolism somehow? Cause that's what I always thought kept skinny people skinny :conf
I'm in the health field. No there is no gene that protects you from a bad diet. Mayweather works out like crazy so he needs the extra calories. However diabetes (to much sugar), high blood pressure (too much salt), and high cholesterol (too much fat) accumulate over time and affect you in the later stages of your life. If Mayweather I used to work out like crazy too, college athlete, ate whatever I wanted. Great blood work every time, even healthier than the recommended levels. Once I stopped working out as much, about a year later I'm now average. At a population level almost everyone will die from diabetes, cancer, or heart disease. In the mean time Mayweather will be just fine with his diet and I'm sure it's a little for show. In general it's better to eat fruits and veggies for long lasting energy, junk food will generally make athletes feel sluggish if they eat too much. I'm sure he is eating just enough to cover his energy expenses and feel good mentally.
Oh dear, someone actually said: "he's turning fat into muscle", a scientific impossibility. We'll hear next how he keeps his bodyfat low by doing sit-ups.
