Even though Hopkins lost tonight, it does not change the fact that he never lost during his prime. From 1995-2004, Hopkins dominated the Middleweight division. In my opinion, his greatest performances were the 1997 fight against Glen Johnson and the 2001 fight against Felix Trinidad.

Before entering his prime, Hopkins lost to Roy Jones Jr. in 1993. Hopkins has 4 losses since 2005, but he was already passed his prime.

Even with those losses, it still does not change the fact that Hopkins never lost during his prime, or the fact that he was the greatest fighter from 1990 until about 2011.

What, are you jealous that your favorite fighter lost in his prime?

Agree: Roy beat him so that counts.

But yeah, by the time he lost his next fight he was past his prime. but its also because he never bothered to move up in weight during that time and rematch Jones jr who would have beaten him again.

Dude, that happened in 1993, which was before Hopkins entered his prime. Hopkins did not reach his prime, in my opinion, until 1995.

I would agree. He was an unseasoned fighter with no amateur experience and far from prime when he lost to Jones. He wasn't prime when he lost to Taylor. So I don't know how anyone would disagree with the TS' statement. Okay would he have beaten Jones prime for prime? I don't know. Would he have beaten Calzaghe? Maybe. Would he have beaten Taylor, hell ya. Would he have beaten Dawson, yup! Nothing unrespectable about the career of one of the greatest fighters of all time.

I'm pretty sure that Hopkins beat Glen Johnson and Felix Trinidad. I'm pretty sure they were better than Jermaine Taylor.
