Is anyone still a fan of Bernard Hopkins?

I can't wait for Hopkins to get inducted into the HOF. I will celebrate when he does.

 

Hopkins is a boxing legend who has achieved a lot. He is also a ****, a racist piece of **** and one of the dirtiest boxers to have ever lived.

I respect his abilities, but could not be a fan of a pure scumbag.

 

Yeah I'm still a fan. His antics are off at times but he is a great fighter and an idol. Losing to a 29 yo world beater is no shame at his age. In all fairness, he did look very game but a little too gun shy.

And anyone who stopped being a fan(not many I suspect) on the back of last night can go **** themselves with rusty scaffold.:bart

I had more of a problem with last night's performance than the one in October. He's a sore loser and a dirty fighter. Resorted to flat out tackling Dawson.

 

Big fan here. He is an incredible fighter that has given us an unbelievable amount of great years in the sport and is still continuing, he deserves respect.

 

Are Hopkins' fans blind to his cheating (faking low blows, faking injury, headbutting, coming in with his head, punching on the break, low blowing in the clinch when the ref is on the other side, excessive clinching, leaning down on opponents, tackling opponent) or do they think it's ok to cheat cause it shows your "ring craft."

 

This. I have no problem with a decent amount of holding (Andre Ward, Carlos Molina, Richard Abril) but I do have a problem with cheating (Hopkins)

 

Are Klitschko fans blind to their heroes fighting tomato cans in **** fights for years but it's OK and they're ATG's because they "dominate?"
The fact that a fighter who fights like Bernard can still be popular means he must be doing something right.
Nobody's claiming he's flawless,but his ability to survive and fight another day is a big factor in his popularity.

 

Hopkins fought a lot of Tomato Cans during his mw reign as well.

 

I acknowledge that Canucks,just thought it was a suitable comparison.Just like the Klits do what they have to,so does Bernard.

 

They've fought everyone in the division and avoided no one and both have very good KO ratios. It's not their fault their opponents aren't good enough. Hop avoided many fighters over the years and cheats regularly during fights. I'm afraid your comparison is no good.

 

When do K2 cheat during their fights? And when Hop was fighting cans it's because he was scared to go up in weight and was avoiding fighters. K2 have fought everyone put in front of them.
