James Toney vs Sanderline Williams #2 . Didn't score , no KDs .
    Williams vs Toney #1 & 2 were much similar 2d McCallum vs Toney #1 - #3 .
Williams was almost as good as McCallum was in every department .

Henry Akinwande vs Jeremy Williams : Williams looked like Tyson in d 1st rd , but didn't try 2 elbow and wasn't as strong , Akinwande was prepared and I think that rd is a 10-10 , 2nd rd Williams was slightly less successful and Akinwande retaliated with n uppercut and a few combinations and was pushing or throwing him at will . in d rd rd came his end by a right hand .

Henry Akinwande vs Maurice Harris . Harris tried 2 stay at distance but Akinwande lands his right hand again and its d end .

Evander Holyfield vs Michael Dokes . Dokes gave him a tough fight but was a pro 4 more than a decade prior , seemed at least a little overweight , was older , took a real good low blow @ d beginning , and was never great 2 begin with . Dokes did enjoy d benefits of retaping d tape around his glove's sleeve , something both Holyfield & Moorer enjoyed vs Bert Cooper later , and I think Sanders enjoyed vs Rahman as well . But it was a good fight 2 watch , relatively speaking .

And Dokes was a 10-1 underdog going into the fight. Pretty much considered to have 1 foot in the grave and taking on a guy he would have had a real tough time with at any point in his career. That bout gave folks the impression that Holyfield was not ready for the division's juggernaut at the time, Tyson.

I don't think he was ready 4 him then either .

and 2day : Carl Williams vs Bert Cooper (at least d 2nd time i watched it)
As opposed 2 d writing in boxrec , 2 only man who went down in this fight , let alone in d 1st rd was Bert Cooper , and not Williams .
Williams clinched something like 2 times in d entire fight , Cooper landed only 2-3 times , Williams maintained his distance with d jab as Xpected and usually successfully , landed a right hand . I didn't score d fight as usual . Williams won by corner retirement after d 7th rd i think , after Cooper heavily hesitated 2 even go out 4 that rd a rd b4 .

Yesterday I watched the first Griffith-Rodriguez fight, which had been scored for Griffith. I dunno, I was a little distracted and all, but I actually had it 6-4 for Rodriguez. I could see one voting for Griffith though, the rounds were mostly all close.

Ugly fight really, way too much grappling.

Just watched one of my favorite new 10-rounders, Gaspar Ortega W10 Benny Paret.

Tremendous action all throughout, these guys came into this fight in amazing shape and stood toe to toe the entire time.

Paret seemed to want to at least give lip service to a jab early on, but gave in after the first few rounds to Ortega's insistence on brawling. I think both fighters woud have made the fight easier had they tried to establish that most basic tool (as would be the case just about every time, I guess) but the viewer should not lament, as they treated us to a thrilling fight.

The scorecards were close, one judge having is 6-4 for Paret, one having it 6-4 for Ortega and the last having it 5-4-1 for Ortega. I had it 5-5, just couldn't choose between them.

Dawson 118 Bhop 111 - bhop needs to call it a day, and i'm in no rush to see much more of dawson. good, but lethargic fighter.

roman gonzales tko4 garcia - gonazales is on his way to becoming this decades ricardo lopez. terrific fighter but he needs to seek out some challenges or his resume will be questioned. maybe reminds me a little more of jc chavez than his countryman arguello.

Carlos Monzon TKO3 Nino Benvenuti - best monzon performance i've seen. his body looked pretty cut here and his power seemed at it's peak. he did not look slow here as he is oftern accused of being.

Jung Koo Chang W10 Amado Ursua - didn't score it because my version is missing a couple rounds. but Chang won clearly. I'm going through a chang career set chronologically and I'm very impressed so far.

Pretty apt description of Dawson there, lethargic....

I hope Ward-Dawson gets made. Ward will shut him out.

Pity that Hopkins had to lose with such a whimper. Even though Dawson won it wide, it was a horrible fight and Dawson won himself no fans with the way he fought...
