Oscar de la Hoya says they have been in discussions with Michael Grant to be Seth Mitchell's next opponent. Grant is a veteran fringe contender who has some decent top 100 wins on his resume. He's a good opponent for Seth at this stage in his career (definitely better than the clubfighter Witherspoon).
I"m surprised that Golden Boy is even considering this fight. Mitchell has no defense, and is at risk of walking into a Grant bomb.
I see no purpose for the fight. Time for him to fight that guy Bryant decisioned. Maurice Byarm, Bryant Jennings, or Malik Scott. If you wnat to test him for real throw him in with Kingpin johnson.
I think this fight is risky for Mitchell, because Grant can definitely punch. If he lands, could be trouble.

He is gonna need to get experience with someone like Mitchell, Malik Scott, or Johnson before going against people like Arreola, Chambers, Thompson, and etc. He is gonna have to figure out how to protect that glass to crack someone first or he will forever be a gatekeeper, and there is nothing wrong with that.
