Good news. The build-up should be good. Paulie's gonna' rip the **** out of him, no doubt. A shame he'll get soundly beaten, though.

Pretty much the same reaction I had. After a long Sunday nap, the last thing I expected to read when waking up is Paulie Malignaggi knocked out anyone. I'm still amused/shocked by it.

Interesting. I didn't see Paulie's last fight, but I do know Alexander looked much improve and very sharp last time out.

I havent made up my mind how those styles would blend togehter in a fight too much but what i believe is that it will be an entertaining chess match between those two! I actually can also see malignaggi beeing the agressor most of the time! Nearly every fight with devon his oppnent had to try to make the fight and chase him down! But malignaggi is smarter then that he will be trying to work behind the jab and also let devon come to him for a change! every time when bradley let his hands go in combinations devon had problems and he grabbed like a sissy

Alexander was looking pretty sharp in his last outing. If he brings his A game he might have a slight chance against "Hands of Stone" Malignaggi

Isn't Malignaggi supposed to be fighting on October 20th for the opening of the new Nets arena in Brooklyn? I doubt he'll be fighting Alexander anytime before that

Dan Rafael, Richard Schaefer, and Kevin Cunningham (Alexander's trainer) and some people at Showtime Sports seem to not share your doubts. :conf

I stand corrected. Apparently Showtime already has the date penciled in for Alexander and since him and Malignaggi are both Golden Boy fighters it would make sense.

Guess it'll depend on how good an offer Showtime and GB make Paulie then. He won't be able to do the Brooklyn gig if he fights in August.

    Sure he can.

Take the last couple of weeks in August and all of September for R&R, that still leaves a whole three week training camp for October 20th.

Six weeks isn't that much less than he had between Diaz I and Diaz II.

Devon doesn't match up well with someone who actually knows how to box and has toughness and mobility.

Don King better start gathering ingredients now, because it'll take some damn fine home cookin' for Devon to escape with a W against the new, improved Magic Man.

Paulie has a big mouth, but I have always respected his boxing ability and handspeed.

If the move to 147 gives him even average punching power, I believe he could be a force in that division.

Would he beat Pac or May? No. Could he beat Ortiz or Berto? I think he'd be a very live underdog against either.

I think he outpoints Alexander, incidentally.
