Cotto's real problem.

    I've been reading a ton of observations and predictions for Mayweather vs Cotto. What I don't see a lot of is an acknowledgement of the fact that Miguel is at a serious physical disadvantage. He is shorter than Mayweather, has a shorter reach that Floyd does, and can't match up in the fast-twitch muscle department. Also, in my opinion, Mayweather is likely to be physically stronger than Cotto.

    What this comes down to is that a fighter can not be shorter and slower than Mayweather and still hope to beat him. You can give height or speed away to Floyd but you can't give both.

    Cotto's style of fighting can only be effective against Floyd if it was hinged to some sort of physical presence.

    mayweather's biggest advantage is craft


    secondly how the **** is mayweather stronger than cotto ?
    how many K.O.'s does he have ?
    could he bully margarito around the ring like cotto did ?

    Physical strength in boxing doesn't always translate to A high KO percentage. I've never seen Floyd bullied and broken down.

    Also, I don't necessarily believe one has to be craftier than Mayweather to beat him. In fact, compared to other fighters who have had success against Floyd, Cotto has enough skill to give Mayweather problems. However, the fact that he is at a physical disadvantage will keep Cotto from being more than merely troublesome.

    Cotto has been an accumulation punche since moving up to 147, at 154 he is the same, with even less 1 punch KO power and taking even more activity to force a stoppage.

    Cotto doesn't have any real problems. He's about to get an amazing payday and no one expects him to win so his drawing power won't be diminished. Life is good for Miguel.

    Cotto is as good as he is ever going to be. The real problem he has is that soft chin. How he is going to protect it from Mayweather God only knows. The only hope I can see is that he has to come out swinging and hopes something connects. I am not a firm believer in the windmilling style of boxing, but what other choice does he have? Mayweather is so much faster that he will be able to hit Cotto at will if Cotto tries to use his normal style. There is a real possibility that Mayweather will knock him out. Mayweather knows this and he also knows that will improve the drawing power for the eventual fight against Pacquiao.

    Cotto is physical stronger than Floyd, but Floyd has gotten much stronger since his early WW days. That's true.

    Bullying?? cotto was running away like a chicken homie, same with pacquiao, now he wont be able to run like uses to do, Floyd is gonna punish that ass badly, thatswhy cotto refused to use 8oz gloves, he knows he wont resist being outpunched ALL NIGHT LONG, he wants to avoid being KOed again but he will :deal

    mayweather will win this but il be having a small bet on cotto if he can tag him like mosley did mayweather will need more than god to save him because cotto wont gas out. still mayweather by pionts.
