YEssir.. . . Also, there are varying levels, and degrees of slickness, would you not agree? Example: malignaggi is about a 5. . Pirog is a 6.5. . Prime Toney was a 7.5. . Prime Hopkins an 8. . Pep was an 8.5. Mayweather is a 9. . Sweet Pea was a 10!
yep. still hoping another slickster in the 8-10 range emerges. we need that. people think slicksters are just the runner type but its the technicians that has an answer for damn near anything that are the true slicksters. i would say Broner is @ 6-6.5 but will get up there someday, i also rate Pirog @ about 7.5 hes very fluid, slippery, and versitile. really impressed by what i saw from Moreno and of course Rigondeux. i rate them @ about the 8-8.5 range, and rate floyd @ 9.5-10. watching a true slickster @ work is amazing to watch. **** the Slick technician haters :bart

Definitely. . Even I admit that Khan is not very slick at all, despite being very fleet of hand, and foot. . . Being slick means you can stand in the pocket if need be, and pick shots off/counter punch, and utilize head, and upper body movement to miss, and roll with punches. . . Or catch punches with elbows, forearms, and gloves. . . All he can do is back peddle away, or stand stationary in the pocket with the ear muffs on. Same with Martinez. . He's more slick than Khan, but he really can't stand in the pocket and pick shots off, or slip punches. . . He's got some upper body movement, but still wouldn't call him "slick". . Just has very fast feet that enables him to skeet away from danger. . . Broner is about a 7 I'd say. . . He's starting to really learn how to walk opponents down AND dodge punches. . . Kinda like what Mayweather is starting to do more, and more of. . Rigo is up there too. . What about ANselmo Moreno? He could very well could have hte best "SLICKNESS" potential out of Rigo, Pirog, Broner, and the new class of "TEAM SLICKNESS" candidates.
:deal ma boy! totally agree with this post. finally someone who truly understands. lots of people talking it but dont seem to understand. Khan is a good "boxer" on the backfoot, but that dont make him slick. hes looks pretty stiff and uncoordinated at times but his style works for him and hes effective. and people think just cuz Sergio fights with swagg and keeps his hands down that makes him slick, he might have a little in him, but he aint no technician. also gotta give a shout out to the dirty side of being slick like the elbow shrugs, "accidental" butts, and getting your shots in immediately after the clinch when your opponents hands are down. Bhop/Floyd style :yep. and yes, i rate moreno VERY high in the slickness area. very impressive. hes gonna be a problem for anyone. would love to a chess match between him & Rigondeux.
All this race talk was pretty funny. I go on a case by case basis. To me ... Oscar de la hoya Christiano Ronaldo Paulie Maligniaggi Canelo Julio cesar chavez Jr Jorge Linares Sergio martinez Brandon Rios Marciano Are all Latin European white. They either have Spanish, Portuguese or Italian blood, with a sprinkle of other stuff, but an olive type of white overall. imo, Latin European people seem to be the most good looking, at least in terms of the women. Anyway, let's move on. Paulie is a bad ass and I'm happy for him, one of my faves.
Many people from Ilha da Madeira in Portugal are exactly like Ronaldo and are all from 100% portuguese heritage.....
I consider them white then. But I can see how a pale brit, dane or swede wouldn't consider them white. Some think you have to look like Canelo, Kelly pavlik or Ricky Hatton to be considered white, but I disagree. Like I said, I think Latin Europeans are also white, just definitely darker then their northern counterparts.
True JM.... My great-grandfather was from Ilha da Madeira, raised here but born there..... He was more brown than Paulie.... But I doubt if he was in US with a name like Javier Martinez wearing a sombrero people would consider him a white person.......it´s just the way US is..... Americans consider Chaves Jr white ?
They probably wouldn't consider your great grandfather white under the sombrero conditions lol And no, people don't consider Julio Cesar Chavez Jr as white because of his Mexican heritage. But if his pale ass was named James underwood people wouldn't think twice and think he was just another white guy lol.
That was a bad stoppage, decided by Paul's cornerman Buddy McGirt, who Paul fired as a result. He wasn't gonna get knocked out. He went the distance with Cotto, and would have done the same with Hatton if his trainer hadn't been such an idiot.
