What on earth made Hopkins think that he won the fight?

Hopkins fought a Hopkins fight. He was physically out gunned. What did you expect him to do? Plant his feet and have a fire fight?

I'm so sick and tired of watching Hopkins in the ring. His style is pretty boring to watch. After his punches landed then he held his opponent's neck and body immediately to protect himself. He did this over and over again in the whole fight. I know that it is his style, but as he is called "the Executioner" so he should at least try to entertain people.

That would be sporting of him. But really, i am just tired of Hopkins crap fights. Crap fights that he seemingly never gets called on. Hopkins when out gunned does everything to make the fight crap. Hopkins has been a con for years now.

There isn't really anymore to it, besides the fact that Dawson clearly won, Hopkins knows damn well he deserved to lose, but is trying to save face by claiming he was robbed. I called it to a T. I predicted it would be an ugly, boring fight that Dawson clearly wins, and that Hopkins would claim robbery. Exactly what happened.

The combination headbutts Hopkins threw in the 1st half of the fight told me all I need to know about how the fight was gonna go. Kinda sad how the ref wouldn't warn him about it either

Alot of fighters are like that... They give it their all and they feel like they won after a fight! It's quite common actually..

Dawson won by 4 points, according to my scoring. Hopkins always complains when he loses. But he has never been given a loss when he deserved a win or a draw.

The thing that made Hopkins think he won the fight is the same thing that deluded him and his fanboys into thinking he won the calzaghe fight.

The Calagzhe fight was worlds more competitive than Dawson II

8-4 Dawson is as close as it can be scored.

That's a bit unfair mate. His style may not be for everyone, but to label his fights as 'crap' is not warranted. He owned fighters he was expected to lose against and if he was just a 'con' the likes of Tarver, Joppy, Pascal, Wright, Trinidad would have found him out in a big way.

Elite athletes get to the level they do in every sport because they are ruthlessly competitive. If they weren't that competitive, they probably wouldn't reach the very top. No elite athlete likes to lose, and they will probably deny that they lost through pride alone. Every athlete and boxer is the same. We've heard it all before, "I don't want to make excuses, but...", or "[Said thing happened] but no excuses...".

I think at first he was just stubborn but later he seemed to realize he lost that fight.

His body looked older at the weigh in, and at the fight. Like no matter how hard he trained, time was starting to catch him.
