Hopkins vs Dawson 2, some rounds were "very" close

    Well I did watch the fight on my High Definition and I must say I was rooting for Hopkins. Personally, I scored the fight 7-4-1 for Dawson. But several of those rounds were close like rounds 1-2 and 6, 9. Dawson won those rounds from the two judges that had him winning and Harold Letterman. Those rounds could have went to Hopkins if you scored on ring generalship or if one goes by punchstats. Have to watch this fight a few more times. Hopkins is not done yet and he can still fight at the elite level.

    Agreed. Hopkins picked up many of Dawsons punches.
    Still, the right man won but the score cards were a bit off.

    Most of the rounds were close, BUT clear. . . Hopkins decisively won round 4. . . And pretty decisively won rounds 3, and 11 IMO. . . I also gave Popkins round 2. . .

    Dawson decisively won about 3-4 rounds. . The rest were somewhat close, but definitely Dawson rounds. . . No way you could give them to Hopkins without an inherent bias.

    Just watching the fight, it looked like Dawson swept quite a few, but so many of those rounds were really very close.

    I felt he swept the later rounds. The first six or so were really close.

    The first four were close and could have gone either way. Dawson clearly won the last 8 rounds though.

    After 5 Dawson was just taking rds. Hopkins possibly won the 12th but Dawson won at least 5 rds from the 2nd half and 2-3 from the first. Therefore, he won no less than 8. Proud of both guys I loved the fight actually.

    Hopkins won 3 rds tops ..And the compu box numbers were bogus as hell ..They had Hopkins throwing like 400 punches I counted more like 200

    compubox numbers are always total bull****, that's why it's annoying to see fans use them to try and make arguements.

    Yeah I want their job . I would make up a ton of numbers for my favorite fighter too:lol:

    Didn't they have Dawson landing 20 something power punches in some round ?

    Bernard at least infights and I'm black but happen to prefer Marciano over Jack Johnson, Foreman, Patterson,etc. Hate that people try to turn it into a race thing especiall Klit huggers(note: huggers not fans).

    Actually love all three(Dawson after Sat he won me over again, Hopkins, Wlad). Great talents and wish them the best. Though they do foul but every fighter has something or things they use to get by legal or not.

    Disagree, in rounds 1-4 Hopkins doubled and tripled the headbutt very effectively, using it to set up right hands and shots to the liver.
