One of my mates said the other day that Bruno let Tyson off after nearly knocking him out in the first round because they were mates and bruno was 'too nice'

Well Hatton was giving Mayweather a good fight. Yeah I did hear a lot of charvers saying Haye's a puff n they would have been straight in there and stuff though lol.

 

everyone is a boxing expert when big fights come up, the ones that make me laugh are when they compare two different fighters who are not even in the same division!


after the kell brook vs hatton fight, i was overhearing two blokes talking and one said, 'he will probably fight ricky hatton next then go and fight mayweather in vegas. All my mates thought the fight that night was for a world title too.


the new guy people are raving about is tyson fury cos hes on mainstream tv hes the next big thing, going to beat wlad etc etc.

 

My dad is one of these. Just talks utter ****. Was babbling on about how Matthew Hatton had "blown up" (when actually, he'd come down from a higher weight to his natural weight for the Kell Brook fight) and then after I said I wasn't impressed, he was saying "it was just a tune up fight, how long has Kell Brook been out?" as if to say he'd been out for a while and it'd been 4 months.

He just talks utter ****ing ****. Calls himself a boxing fan yet doesn't know **** all about it. His great plan for Pacquiao against Mayweather: just don't come forward, fight off the backfoot. Oh it's that simple is it?

 

I was in a casino for the Pacman v Margarito fight and the amount of **** that comes out of peoples mouths is insane!! There was a group of lads all telling each other how Pacman was gonna smash him because he was ****.I asked all 3 of them how they came to the conclusion Margarito was **** and for them to name 1 person Margarito has faced in his 50-60 fight career, they couldn't name 1.

Haye v Harrison fight i swear half the pub had betting slips with Harrsion to win. Now i just stay in and watch boxing far to many big fight experts out there.

 

Oh and half of Aberdeen actually believe Lee Mcallister is a world champion!!

I was aso watching Khan vs Paulie, and i said it would be fairly one sided for Amir, as he does everything better than Paulie. My mate replied, 'Yeah, but the one thing about Malignaggi is, although he is slow, he can ****ING punch.' I chuckled and said 'no mate, you have it the wrong wat round. He is quick, but very feather fisted' to which he replied 'Ooh yeah, I must be thinking of the other Malignaggi!'. 'Yeah mate, you must be' I replied shaking my head. No joke either.

You hear some ridiculous things, my dad talks some ****. I can guarantee some one will come in with a rant about "boxing snobs, this is why people don't get into the sport you should encourage them not gloat because you watch more than them".

One of my mates who watches with me sometimes is always upset if no one gets knocked out which is annoying. He enjoyed Proksa/Hope though.

 

I agree, boxing fans certainly dont welcome others to the Sport with their no-all attitude and how quick they will laugh or look down at others if they do say something silly. Basically this thread highlights it!

 

i was in a pub once in birmingham and there was this drunk lad at the bar in a ricky hatton tshirt, so i thought, aww a boxing enthusiast lets have a chat, so i told him i saw ricky when he fought in sheffield to which he abruptly replied 'hes never boxed in sheffield, he only fights at MEN arena, i then got photos off phone of the night and he then tried glassing me, had a proper laugh watching him fall over mid swing and stay down

 

Be the same in every sport.

Someone starts talking **** and nonsense about football, its just as annoying.
