The 10oz gloves announcement was a let down, but at least it's not the huge 10oz gloves. I voted Floyd by decision way before I found out the fight might be with 8oz gloves, now that it's 10oz my prediction might be right again. :D

Cotto!! I just hope the judges decisions are fair if it comes to that.

Cotto is a tough fight for anyone. To me he has to pressure from the start, hoping his stamina issues are behind him. He cannot let the judges be doubtful of a UD. Instead, He has to prove he landed more and was the more agressive, effective puncher. And he might just surprise Mayweather. WAR Cotto !

Some were partially landed. I'd say 4 of 9.

You won't see Cotto doing any of this though. He's just going to get out-boxed or bested in the center of the ring (Probably with a box and move type style).

Mayweather will come forward because Cotto will probably choice a strategy to box-move, hit, and get out. Mayweather easy decision. 10-2 or wider type score.

    Nah.

The 2 left hooks (the first one directly after the looping right that landed, so punch #2 of 9 - and the second one after another looping right that missed just before Mayweather leans against the ropes...punch #6 of 9 in the overall GIF) may have "partially" landed, but Mayweather pulled back enough that they had no impact whatsoever.

So 3 of 9 touched Floyd, and only 1 had any sting to it. (the initial looping counter right).

The two hooks technically made glancing contact with Floyd's face, but he was moving back rapidly in the same direction they were. They had no effect whatsoever and shouldn't be scored as "clean punches". They were virtually misses. If you were scoring by amateur rules were all you need to do is touch someone and "clean effective punches" don't matter, you could at a stretch say that Ortiz landed 3 of 9 in that GIF for a pedestrian 33%.

In reality, under pro scoring, he landed 1 of 9. A lowly 11%.

Punch 1: Looping right hand, countered over the Mayweather uppercut. Catches Mayweather flush on the chin.
Punch 2: Left hook, obstructed by Mayewather's right forearm and trailing after Mayweather's head as it moves away. Laws of physics and our own eyes/common sense tell us this wasn't a connection of any impact or significance.
Punch 3: Right hand, lunging, missed. Ortiz's right wrist curls around Mayweather's left forearm but doesn't get near his head.
Punch 4: Left hook, lunging, missed. Ortiz's left wrist curls around Mayweather's right forearm but doesn't get near his head.
Punch 5: Right hand, deflected off the arm and ultimately missing.
Punch 7: Right hand to the gloves, thrown lightly to set up Punch 8. Blocked.
Punch 8: Left hook. Caught entirely on the glove. Blocked.
Punch 9: Right hand to the body, winding around Mayweather's backside. Ortiz's actual fist doesn't touch the body, just his arm/wrist. Miss.

Oops, it looks like I left out a description of Punch 6, but it would essentially just be a copy/paste of Punch 2.
