Despite Cotto having no chance, Floyd should get MUCH more credit than Pac vs Cotto!

Even though you're totally right about Cotto's decision to accept 145 you can't deny that a catchweight does benifit Pacquiao otherwise Roach wasn't going to request it.

As much as many wouldn't like to admit it, it's a fact.

*This isn't directed at you* Only out of shape scrubs would respond to this post with comments like "IT'S ONLY 2 POUNDS LOL", hit the ****ing gym and get a clue. Your -2 Baskin Robbins pounds doesn't compare to athletes in a professional sport BASED ON WEIGHT DIVISIONS. *This isn't directed at you*

Chill out. Weighing one pound less than the previous fight, hardly weakened Cotto to the point where he wasn't fit on the night. And noone was complaining about the fight being a catchweight at the time. Pacquiao was still viewed as he little guy coming up, remember. In fact, he was viewed as the smaller guy against Hatton back down at 140. So there was no surprise then that against a fully fledged welterweight like Cotto, the fight would be at a catchweight of some sort.

Cotto WAS in good condition; as evident by the first few rounds where he gave Pacquiao all he could handle. The fight itself shows you his stamina and sharpness wasn't off. Instead, it was his usual dislike of recieving punishment, that broke him down. 145, 147 or even 154, the Pacquiao of that night was always gonna' bust him up.

But if you wanna' remain under the impression one pound made the difference, then go ahead. Stay deluded.

I picked Pacquiao to beat Cotto with speed, I agree with you there but I thought DLH would be good enough to sneak a left hook on him and possibly hurt Pac. I thought Oscar was the better boxer even with the age factor, but then again I was a big Oscar fan early on in his career.

If he wasn't fit on the night he wasn't going to be allowed to fight by the commission itself. But the request to bring him down to 145, which is TWO pounds, had it's purpose otherwise it wasn't going to be requested. I hope you know/remember that they first requested 143 till Cotto demanded 145 or nothing that they were forced to oblige.

-2 pounds for a professional athlete may seem like nothing to you, but that remains to you, it doesn't mean it's right. No offense but it only proves your poor awareness of the physical aspect of the sport. The man's training camp doesn't become 100% preparation for a gameplan to overthrow his opponent, yet it adds up that he needs a conditioner to make sure he doesn't go above that limit come weigh-in night. That's NOT as simple as typing behind the comfort of a computer, let me tell you.

He was also considered a damaged goods/ruined opponent when Pacquiao fought him. Why did they fight him too?

As soon as a fighter loses ******s like you should instantaneously boycott his fights UNLESS he fights someone you like/appreciate, correct?

Cotto looks the same, imo. His only major adjustment was revealed in his last fight when he would engage Margs into a clinch and physically back him up. Other that that, his style has been virtually unaltered over the years and weight changes.

In order for Floyd to get more credit than Pac, IMO, he would have to beat Miguel in a more impressive fashion; bottom line.

at a 154 pounds and not fresh off of two brutal beat downs, it's a big difference in this version of cotto compared to pac's version of cotto. a BIG difference.
but there is no point in comparing pacquiao and mayweather since they both are too big of bitches to face each other.

So since you think Margs used bricks! Not only did Cotto get hit with bricks for almost 11 rounds against Tony... He also took a god awful ass whooping against Pac! :rofl So Cotto is now wayyyy better? LMAO.. :think
