emmanuel was clearly big enough to fight Cotto(e) without a catchweight

It be reasonable if he was demanding a catchweight for say a 160 pounder

It's really dependent on who's behind who really. The greater a fighter "claims" to be, the more there is to be expected of such a fighter. That being said, people want him to move to everywhich weight where the opponent is for each fight.

Bottom line is, when you're fighting a guy that's a bigger draw you have to bend to his demands if you want the fight. Mayweather did it with De La Hoya so on and so forth. You might not like it but that's the way it goes.

cotto fan boys shouldnt be asking this question. its far more shameful to ask a challenger to fight at a cathcweight, you know what i mean.

Biggest purse he had ever been offered at a time where he was contemplating hanging them up.

Nothing is more shameful than 2 unranked individuals fighting for a tittle at a catchweight, you know what I mean.;)

    145 pounds?

If it was good enough for Pernell Whitaker & Julio Cesar Chavez, it was certainly good enough for Manny Pacquiao & Miguel Cotto.

On Friday they were fighting for Whitaker's title, with a

weight ceiling—two below the customary welter-weight limit—set to accommodate the lighter Chávez, but there was a good deal more at stake. "This is for the best fighter, pound for pound," said Whitaker, a U.S. Olympic gold medal winner in 1984. "We may be fighting for my title, but that's not what everyone is talking about. This is like going for the gold again."
