Losing one pound ( Cotto v Pacquiao ) is harder than going up two divisions ( Marquez v Floyd ) ?:patsch

Why was Pacquiao unwilling to fight MIguel Cotto at his most comfortable weight of 154, and instead insisted he drain himself down?

    That isn't speculation it's a fact

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpL6n0F3bX4&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

Freddie here says he wants Mayweather at a catchweight below 147 because and I quote, 'we want to make him work to get down in weight, he's a talented fighter, and if we can take something from him we will'

So no matter how you all try to come in and defend Pacs catchweights, it's clear from the man who trains him that it's a tactic employed purposefully to give an advantage to Manny and to take something from his opponents

    It's not even debatable

Pac wanted Cotto at 145 to take something from him

He wanted Margarito at 150 after a devastating loss and an average performance to take something from him

He wanted Cotto this time at 148 to take something from him

He wanted Marquez at 144, not 140 (which was what Marquez wanted) because Marquez looked bad against Mayweather at 142 and they wanted him to be at a disadvantage

    Simple

Freddie pulls the strings and this is how it goes

:yep and that came back to haunt them dearly. Luckily for Manny, Arums judges saved his ass.

    Exactly

Freddie & Mannys fans defend Pacquiaos catchweights by saying he's really a smaller fighter, he's really only a 140 fighter, blah blah

Then Marquez gets shut out weighing over 140 and looks flabby against Mayweather, and suddenly fighting him at 140 isn't an option anymore, and the fight is at 144

The video is almost 4yr. old, Pacquiao was a lightweight.

What about Floyd? He fought Hatton at welter, not Hatton's best weight. Advantage , Floyd.

Marquez at 146, not JMM'S best weight. Big advantage, Floyd.

:good:good:good I got a whole thread dedicated to this video. He also said Margarito was a big prime WW in his prime and that just wasn't a good fight for them at the moment. He said maybe if he comes down to a catchweight they'll fight him and it depends on how he looks vs Mosley :rofl:rofl:rofl

None of them gave Floyd any unscrupulous advantage

Hatton moved up to fight Floyd from 140 affter being the undefeated champ of the division, they then fought at 147, the welterweight limit

    Nothing wrong with that

With Marquez A catchweight under the welterweight limit is a compromise as he was the smaller man coming up two divisions

    Exactly

'We dont want any of him, hes in his prime'

    *margarito gets brutally destroyed*

    'We want that fight'

It's not even us making stuff up, it's from the horses mouth

Pacs own trainer said this stuff, without any video manipulation or interpretation, word for word

:rofl foreal, when it comes to Floyd, they say stuff like, "well Floyd said he wanted to fight him, but never did. hahahaha" "Floyd looked scared when Mosley and Margo walked up to him bwahahah gayweather"

but Pacquiao's own trainer explains how he avoided fighters because of the difficulty the fight would bring and explained why he picked fights because they'd be easier

Roach to pre-Mayweather/Post-Margo Shane: "Shane you're too good."

    Post Mayweather/Mora: "We want Sugar!"
