A guy once told me that he saw Joe Calzaghe hit Amir Khan with an uppercut so hard he nearly knocked him over the top rope.

Also met a guy at a Christmas night out who was saying he was right into the boxing, started talking about the Froch -Ward fight and he seemed to know what he was talking about roughly, until he all of a sudden comes out with, "You know what I think would be a great fight though? Ward vs Khan!"

 

Sounds like one of presenters on SSN.

 

My dads mate was round the other day telling me about 'Thomas Hearn and Larry Hagman' me and my dad were pissing ourselves. He didn't get why we were laughing and said to me 'probably a bit before your time' Me and my Dad were written off after that, tears streaming down the face and all sorts. Dad struggling to tell him 'you're thinking of Dallas you soft ****' and never getting through the sentence.

Wrong house to talk boxing in!

 

There's probably a lot of people who wouldn't mind that fight considering we all know how it would end.

 

I've always remembered this one, from around 2005. My mate was talking of a clash between Hatton and Calzaghe and deliberating in a serious way as to who would win, and in the end began to lean towards Hatton.

I get all twitchy when the subject of boxing comes up. Mostly when I'm sitting there with a group of blokes I don't know very well and they have no idea I'm into boxing. Especially that of the classic era. And they talk about Muhammad Ali. And Joe Frazier. Sometimes even Ray Robinson or Rocky Marciano. The worst culprits are actually men of about forty five who pretend they know about Marvin Hagler and Ray Leonard.

My old man left me answerphone message saying how **** Harrison was after he was KO'd by Sprott.

Unfortunately I had Sky+'d the fight and had not yet played it back:nono

 

Agree 100%. I've had near punch ups on holiday discussing boxing with ****s who know nothing.

When I meet people my own age who argue with me 'Floyd is the best fighter ever with the best defence blah blah ****in' blah' I absolutely crush them. I can't hack it, so usually I just walk away.

I thought I knew a lot about Boxing until I rocked up here....Im waiting for the "and you still dont know **** all Migs"....Probably right!

 

My missus watches alot of boxing with me, she picks winners by who looks toughest.

Probably has a 75% success rate, Picked Frenkel over Enzo :deal

Also untill a couple of weeks ago thought KO was Keel Over!
