The majority of cubans are happy with the government they have, a few want to get out just like they do in dominican republic, mexico, and other countries. That doesnt mean is not a free country, the boxers that sneak out have to thank the revolution that gave them everything and made them who they are. Prior to the revolution Cuba never won as many medals on international competitions in many sports as they have won since. Plenty of cuban athletes get to participate in pro competitions boxers dont because of the US economic embargo. Javier Sotomayor, ana fidelia quirot to mention a few participated in many competitions in europe just as many volleyball players have and other sports. Boxing is complicated because is ran by organizations from the US and they dont want cubans to fight for them unless they defect and talk bad about Fidel.

Mir son'd Brock Lesnar in their first fight and that's after his accident. Just to see Frank get back in the cage after that accident against anyone, is a victory in it's self. Mir was way pasted his prime as well. So they are even with one win each.

Bro, how in the world can you say that most Cubans are happy with their goverment? Since they don't have " freedom of speech " of course they have to say something nice about the revolution as no one is allowed to say what they truly feel.

It just amazes me that you defend a system where they persecute, torture and kill people as an everyday normal thing. Next thing you'll say is that you also like North Korea's goverment or that the holocaust never happened or that the nazis were not bad. :twisted:

It's very easy to say something from the outside and not live it in the flesh. The Cuba that the communist portray on TV is a completely different picture of the real Cuba.

Let me just give you a brief example. A couple of years ago a man got shot and killed by a Castro official for just carrying a bag of black beans ( for just trying to feed his family ) " without proper permission "!!! What the heck is that?

The Castro goverment has killed, tortured and persecuted hundreds of thousands of people that just " disagreed " with his system, that's not freedom, it's called a dictatorship.

In Jesus' days, Jesus called those kinds of people " sons of the devil " because they were full of evil just as the devil.

So yes, there have been some Cubans that have participated in pro competitions like some volleyball players and track and fields athletes but those have been " exceptions " to the rule. Cuba's boxers and Baseball players are not allowed to be professionals and Castro is one tough headed dude for preventing that. If he let's them be pros and give him a percentage of their income he will be completely set but he doesn't realize this.

So at the end you agreed with me in that Cuban boxers are not allowed to be pros.
