How much did shot Marquez' thrashing of Pacquiao detract from Pac vs May?

I feel like you are disrespecting JMM. I was one of the very few if not the only one who predicted exactly what happened. I made a thread before the fight calling it exactly like it happened.

The media tried to sell us PBF-Pac by saying Pac had improved so much when in reality he was the same fighter just with more careful match making.

PBF was always and will always be an overwhelming favorite over Pac. We did not need JMM schooling Pac again to see that. JMM is a great fighter and I felt it was very disrespectful that he was overlooked by everyone including the so called experts.

it wasnt disrespectful. jmm looked like **** at higher weights. pac looked invincible. jmm in his pime had went death to death with pac, so how was an old bloated version supposed to match the Filipino Steroidhouse?

if you truly predicted what went down, then i take my hat off to you

I think the JMM/Pac 3 fight has taken some luster off of the Floyd/Pac fight to the casual fan who would believe if he cant dominate this guy then he surely can't beat Floyd....in that respect yea some luster may have been taken off.

To the more hardcore fans i think its still a intriguing fight and a must see.

    surely the opposite is true

the media can completely ignore that fight, and focus on pac and floyds best moments

any hardcore boxing fan now knows Exactly whats up

It did take some of the luster off, because I think it showed that Pac would be a prohibitive underdog against Floyd should they ever fight.

However it was more disturbing that a future Hall of famer was robbed in such an awful fashion and it is a black eye on the sport.

To the contrary my friend. The casual fan by hype can be conned into believing Mayweather-Pacquiao is a tossup.

The hardcore fan on the other hand took note at how easily Marquez nullifeid every Pacquiao strenghth and has no other recourse but to come to the conclusion that Mayweather-Pac is an utter mismatch.

Imo by watching the last Marquez-Pac fight, the educated boxing fan knows for certain now that Pacquiao's hyped boxistical improvements are no where near sufficient for him to operate against a boxer the level of Mayweather.

    :good

an underdog, with no skills, who's been fighting leftovers etc etc....that needs to be tested before he fights Floyd :rofl

It all makes sense in Floydiot-Land :happy

It did take a little luster off but don't think it will detract that much. Some thought Lewis's loss to Rahman would take luster off the Tyson fight but that fight was still huge when it happened. Of course, there were those casual fans who still thought that Tyson was the same 80s version while hardcore boxing fans knew otherwise.

Mayweather wins but in an alot more competive fight than it was at 147 lbs where Marquez was bloated and well past prime.

Mayweather is a bad style matchup for a counterpuncher like Marquez.
His defense compounded by his height and reach just makes it a difficult task.
At 130 lbs Mayweather does'nt have a strenghth advantage and I think Marquez lands alot more clean punches and makes it competitive all the way through.

First of all ----- JMM THE "FANS REAL" WBO WW CHAMP

i dont know man i still think pacs volume punching can bother floyd. Pac dosent pic his shots he just goes for them. I still think floyd would win but wouldnt be easy fight. Jmm is a technical fighter and floyd just happend to be bigger faster and better. No shame in the great jmm loosing to floyd. He stepped up like a man and tried for 12 rounda and finished with his head up high. Jmm will always be pacs daddy wether *******s except it or not. Floyd vs pac is still interesting to hardcore fans but not so much any more to the media, honestly its actually been embarassing to the boxing community how these 2 act like drama queens. People are tierd of getting their hopes up. And if i were floyd i wouldnt fight pac if arum is involved.

Lopez vs salido - fix was in

    Abril vs rios - robbery

    Jmm vs pac - robbery

Floyd knows if arum is involved he is set up for a robbery. Piece of **** arum should be banned from boxing, these guys risk their lives for glory and respect only to loose it to buisness. If i were floyd i wouldnt fight oac unless arum is contracted not to be any part of the event.
