I was watching some Patterson vids and realized this guy was way too small to be a HW. He's a natural CW weight wise but when you look at his dimensions he looks like a MW or SMW. His tale of the tape doesn't help either- It says 190 but there's dudes 160 and under with the same dimensions This content is protected
Come to think of it your'e right. His body dimension are very similar to my own. Haven't so much as sparred in 6 yrs, but I still got an inch or more in the arms and legs, and walk around btween 180-190. But when I was prepping for a fight in 05, it was at LMW, and I was down to 158 two days before weigh in when the kids promoter's(?) check bounced and he refused to return my calls. They called him the devil on BI, but I think he posted here under the name Charlie Zeleenoff. But yeah, Im Patterson's size. He'd smoke me, and most LHWs and many CWs, but I don't think he'd fare well with the Jason Gaverns or the Manny Puchetas or the Daniel Bispo's of 2012.
My guess is he just didn't have to cut weight for fights. He's a natural 180-195 lb guy. 32 in waiste, typical. Skinny legs and arms, but decent chest and back. In todays days he'd be fighting Bute or Ward and contending in that division and rehydrating to 185.:think
really he was a natural lightheavweight, and won a gold medal as a middleweight....the money was at heavyweight and Cus D'Amato knew he had the talent to compete with bigger guys.
