Think there's some apple core in the bin and I've got a sachet of McD's barbecue sauce for marinade.

Gotta be between Tyson and Roy Jones. These two get talked up to be practically unbeatable, yet both fought very questionable opposition throughout their entire careers. Tyson got KO'd by Douglas in his prime, Jones was behind on a scorecard against Montell Griffin in his prime! Only a year after his greatest achievement (beating John Ruiz...) he got KO'd by Antonio Tarver, then Glen Johnson.

That's not to say both weren't great fighters, but they are without a doubt overrated to **** by casuals and their fanboys.

Someone needs to teach the OP how to troll.

Angry trolling is lame, the best trolls are subtle with the crazy until they lay it down, and instead of getting defensive don't resort to name calling and swearing but "fake" logical arguments.

So much anger in this thread, but nah, all those guys in the OP were great at one time. They passed the eye test if you watched them in their prime.

  8. I am neither a casual nor a fanboy (unless we are discussing Ali). Tyson was a monster in his SHORT prime and anyone who thinks he was always the way he was against Lewis and Holyfield and the only difference is the step up in competition then they are complete idiots. He was not the same fighter. Fk man he didn't fight for four years then comes back and people think he's the same. Hell no. And yes he lost to Buster Douglas, was that the same Tyson. I don't think he's overated at all, i don't think anyone apart from a complete casual would ever put him top 5 or even 10 heavyweights off all time. However in his prime, I can't see anyway to argue against him being one of the greatest and capable of beating anyone from any era. IM SAYING HE COULD NOT HE WOULD.

Have more children. The more children you have, the more likely that one of them will grow up to be famous. :yep

I consider Tyson's prime from winning the title off Berbick to when he went to prison. When he fought Holyfield and Lewis he wasn't nearly the same fighter, he became a crude slugger. Anyone who's watched his fights can see the massive difference between pre and post prison Tyson. Believe me mate I've watched a lot of Tyson's fights, even his fights against journeymen.

Tyson was devestating no doubt, however even if you look at his fight against Larry Holmes, when Larry got on his bike and jabbed he was giving Mike fits, he just didn't have the legs to do it for long and Mike caught up to him. I think prime Larry Holmes beats Mike, prime Holyfield beats Mike and I think prime Lennox Lewis could beat prime Mike, as would prime Ali and perhaps prime Foreman (who was at his best against swarmers). When Mike beat Spinks, he had bad knee problems, was on an 18 month lay off and was a natural LHW. Holmes was ring rusted and 38 years old. Trevor Berbick and Frank Bruno were good but not great fighters. Buster Douglas completely dominated him.

CHAVEZ JR, Canelo Alvarez, Sergio Martinez and OMG James F*^%ng Toney of course are damn overrated.
Chavez Jr. Got caught with Peds while in the Pac v Cotto Undercard, got a slap in the wrist. Canelo got ROCKED by Jose Cotto (Cotto's older brother) who for that fight went up in weight. He ALMOST took Canelo out in the first round!
Sergio got rocked by a no one, and that dude had his face looking like he got hit with a bag of "WTF"!
AND JAMES, we'll that dude been a fraud all his career!

James Toney is an ATG, make no bones about it.

What MW goes through the classes up to HW and DOESN'T get Knocked Out?

One of the best defensive fighters of all time.

Tyson had ALL of the skills/moves to make him the greatest. You just don't see Heavy's with his skills and his speed of hand and foot.

Roy Jones fought a lot of mediocre comp, but he looked like the closest to Superman that we've ever had.

@ knockout artist - Larry Holmes is probably the greatest Heavy of all time.
