Nope. There is a basic difference between cultural identities of people in French-speaking Quebec and English-speaking Canada. You don't find that kind of difference between Ohio and the other states. Try to compare it with Basque or Catalan identity in the Spanish state.

Advocating an alleged superiority might be of course annoying, but here we should stick to simply acknowledging that the difference exists, with no value-related comments.

Nope. Except for a minority, the same minority you can find in every country.

Did you follow what Stephen Harper has been doing for the last year or so? Each decision of his, puts more distance between Quebec et the ROC.

A lot of fresh new young faces have arrived lately. And a couple of cards, put up by some managers, are going on. This friday, it's the first out of 4 cards put up by Douggie Berneche, his stable boy being Arash Usmanee.

There is also Eye of the Tiger management, who's having a card May 19 with Dierry Jean in the main event.

GYM has Jean Pascal and Adonis Stevenson, but also Antonin Décarie, Kevin Bizier, Eleider Alvarez, Oscar Rivas in their stable.

Interbox is different as it only do event for Lucian Bute, with Pier-Olivier Côté on the card. But when Bute stops fighting, it may well be the end of Interbox.

:lol:More people should be like you, that would speed up the process.

That's why I was a bit sad the Wildrose Party wasn't elected.

    Great posts

    From Quebeckers

I 100% agree with the fact that there is a huge difference. Ignorant ****s do not understand this

thinking OH WOW IT'S IN CANADA SO ITs the same. WRONG

That's like saying Barcelona is the same as the rest of Spain cuz it's in Spain. Its vastly different , it might as well be another country

it goes that way for a lot of places around the world

one country but parts of it lead such radically different life styles it might as well be some other country entirely

:good Borders are sometimes arbitrary, especially in a colonial heritage. Just look at the whole African continent where the same people are often dispersed in several countries for no apparent reason.

I think some people missed the meaning of my post. I was saying Pascal was going to win against Cloud and Bute was going to lose against Froch, resulting in Pascal becoming more popular. Probably won't happen but that's what I'm rooting for.

Which one of us is pretending to be superior to the other? That's you, kid. You don't know **** about Quebec but you are so sure of you. I have half my family living in Ontario, I probably know Canada better than you know Quebec but I won't insult people of 9 provinces like you do for mine.

I only said we were living apart for a long time.

Oh, definitely not. . . I just don't understand the mindset in wanting to "be your own country", when you're already part of a lovely country! Why not just be one big, happy family? Help each other!

But if the feds aren't giving Quebec their fair treatment, and proverbial "slice of the pie", then I could see why. . It would be frustrating to not have equal representation. . .

Also, I have NO IDEA how the separation of fed/state/local (county/city) government powers work in Canada, so like I said, I'm definitely not drawing any conclusions. What would you say the % is of people for, and against becoming a separate, independent country? 50/50? 60/40 against?

As long as they don't have the attitude that all (or even majority) of Americans are fat, ethnocentric, ignorant, and idiots, then it's cool!

BTW: Montreal does have a BADASS fight scene!! Boxing MAD, they are! So that's definitely a HUGE plus!
