So, we pretty much know a fair bit about Daud Yordan from his brief (if impressive) encounter with Robet Guerrero, outboxed in a game performance against Chris John and completely outworked and beat up quite frankly against Caballero. However, he does somehow manage to remain a factor despite all this.

He's up against a Filipino who is 1 KO short of a 100% record. However, one look on the Tube would tell you he's not all that. He seems to tire pretty quickly, and is far more of a crude slugger than his compatriots with raw power rather than immense explosiveness. Most of his wins (and KO's) have come against rather **** poor competition to date and he's facing a man whos never been knocked out at a much higher level. He's very easy to hit.

Given the way Yordan seems to always fight up close its easy to see him forgoing any skill advantage here and simply duking it out with Villanueva.

It would seem Yordan has slight home advantage having fought in Singapore before, but its hard to say. The bookies can't split them in this one it seems, both priced at 5/6.

Had a look at this match up earlier for the prediction league and i'm going for a Yordan TKO in middle rounds. This Villanueva bangs really hard but is really crude at times and i think Yordan can land and expose the raggedness of his style.

Villanueva can pick a beauty of a punch though but there's one fight where he looks totally shattered by second round.

Yordan's form and bit of class should be enough in a great fight.

Had a look at Villanueva on Youtube the other week after seeing his record on Boxrec...

I was thoroughly disappointed, he is absolute kak, entertaining though.

Yordan is a decent fighter, has improved a bit since being virtually shut-out by Cabalerro, didn't disgrace himself against John last year.

Yordan stops him in the mid rounds.

Yordan (iPhone correction: Toerag :rofl) has impressed me every time I've seen him, be it due to fighting ability (Guerrero; John) or sheer heart and toughness (Caballero)

He'll take this IMO, via decision or late stoppage of his man gets knackered.

Agreed. I think Yordan could drag him into deep water.

This could be fight of the weekend.

Should be a war, the Daud takes this inside 7 rounds imo. :ibutt

Will this be a V-Bookie event IB? :think

Interesting most people (and some good critics) have Daud winning this, in a fight the bookies have as relatively 50/50.

Either we've read it perfectly and theres good value here or Villanueva is going to be a pretty damn good fighter to put Daud away.

It's gonna be a good-un but when i see a guy gassing in 2nd round of a fight i'm worried. He's got good power but i think Yordan's bit of class and fundamentals will see him stop him midway through. Might even put few quid on it.

I've actually spotted DCY as the betting underdog.

    :think Opportunity knocks.

Yordan wins by brutal KO2 in a WAR!! Huge concussive knockdowns traded, but Yordan was the one who got up and stayed up! :bbb

Very reminiscent of Lopez vs. Concepcion, really.

The better fighter was caught cold early on, but recovered and showed his class in an all-out firefight.

Haha, not that surprising an outcome for the early finish either way. Seems Yordan's better class and experience shone through.
