Arum sickens the sport. He has been busted in the past for being corrupt. Arum is by far the worst.

what is your criteria in judging a promoter to be bad.

1. can't/don't know how build up a fighter? (gbp/dibella)

2. unable to secure a high purse for his fighter? (shaw)

3. don't want to spend money to make/sell a fight? (shaw)

 

People might hate Arum but he makes the most money by far and has for a very long time, I'd say that makes him the best promoter easy.

I'd pick Gary Shaw as the worst. Look at the talent that's passed through that guy's hands, insane. He'll find great fighters know one knows about, bring them to the US, and do **** with them. The Bradely-Alexander fight was proof how much Shaw sucks at promoting, and Pirog-Geale in Washington? The guy just whores out for the highest price without thinking about the next step.

People say Arum hurts boxing by not giving into Floyd or Oscar and just make the fights, but someone like Shaw hurts it far worst by not developing any fan base for talented fighters like Bradely and Dawson.

 

Arum fighters have always had problems making fights over the years.


Every year you always end up with some big controversy about why someone is ducking someone else, and it always involves Arum.

I would say Henessey but he seems to have done a good job promoting Tyson Fury and has got some of his shows on terrrestrial t.v. which no other promoter in the U.K has done for years.

 

Gary Shaw in the US
Hennessey in Europe.
