Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a Hypocrite that uses Mexican resources (Cinco de Mayo, Canelo as a supporting co-main event/undercard, DelaHoya as his promoter, etc..) because Floyd can't sell on his own.

Floyd always needs to fight on Cinco de Mayo or Mexican Independence day weekend (September 15-18) because thats when many Mexicans go to Vegas to party and selling fight tickets to them is easier and better for the boxing promoters.

Since Floyd is American, why can't Floyd fight on a 4th of July weekend in the east coast ????
Cause he cant sell. Thats why.

Floyd, a free-agent, and despite owning his own promotional company ( Mayweather Promotions, Inc.) can't sell on his own.
He needs DelaHoya's GBP company to promote him, despite Floyd not tied to any promotional contract.

Floyd didnt bring those PPV's numbers alone.
It was DelaHoya that made those PPV's numbers high.

Floyd fought Gatti and barely made about 350,000 PPV buys.

Floyd fought Carlos Baldomir and bareley made 400,000 ppv buys.

BUt now that Delahoya promotes him, Delahoya puts big name undercard fighters like Canelo, Morales, etc. and that is what helps Floyd's PPV shows.
For Floyd to claim that he's a "

I agree with the TS but i dont see anything wrong with Capitalism. Boxing is much of business(if not more these days) as it is a sport. Floyd strategy is brilliant and sadly boxing aficionados are blinded by the love of the sport. Floyd has been setting all this up which includes fighting in the Southwest on May 5th where Mexicans are predominant and historically support most boxing events. Also, in one of the interviews he made it clear and says something along the lines of "Everyone knows Mexicans are the best boxing fans" (paraphrasing here).

Bottom line, nothing wrong with it and i don't think Floyd could sell a fight on his name on the eastcoast fighting someone who is not Cotto (NYC in particular). .. Who wouldnt want to make 20/30+ million fighting whenever?

The ODLH/Mayweather event was ODLH success and not Floyds...

" , being "rich", etc. because he alone, is not making it happen.

He has to get alot help for Delahoya.

Can you imagine of Floyd tried to promote himself on PPV on HBO, under "Mayweather Promotions" alone, without the help of Delahoya's Golden Boy Promotions, Canelo undercards, etc.??
Floyd would barely sell 100,000 PPV, because most african-american sportsfans are into basketball, football, and many have lost insterest in boxing and would not buy Floyd's PPV shows.

we will find out later this year, or next year, cause Soto has mentioned Floyd Mayweather Jr. as a possible opponent down the road in a boxeomundial.com article a couple months ago.

we have to wait till Soto KO's Matthysse, before Mayweather Jr.'s name gets in the mix, cause Soto wants to fight at 147lbs soon, cause he wants to fight both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr, one right after the other, after he brutalizes and KO's Matthysse, then he'll go after Pac & Floyd.
