    he is a 12-1 favorite

why does he deserve credit for something that ? you dont get "credit" for beating up former 135 pound kings who are now 40 years and without a win in 3 years......

    Just to let you know:

Canelo had 20 Amateur bouts, winning some national championships in Mexico before turning Pro at the age of 15.

Mosley is way past prime and is coming off two bad losses at 147, so at 154 I expect nothing less than a KO win from Canelo. Otherwise I just can't bring myself to give him credit for decision win. :bart

Or am I being fair or too critical?

Wins by SD or MD, little credit. By UD or domination, good credit. Knocks him out or stops him, alot of credit. I dont think hes on a prime Oscars level or even a Vargas's level. He should learn afew things from Mosley whether its Canelo wins or loses. Needs to focus on Mosley not anyone else. Hes a mature fighter for his age, but not like a Sanchez type. I could tell Beristein and co. in the mock jury were getting under his skin and he was growing uncomfortable with their opinions. Floyd will mess with this kids head way before the actual fight. Careful Saul dont look past Mosley because Sugar Shane can turn into a real jawbreaker! Like fighting Jose Cotto x10!

It all depends on how you regard Canelo and Mosley.

I see a lot of inconsistency from the boxing world when it comes to Canelo. A lot of people seem to regard
him as extremely overrated but yet expect nothing more
than a KO of Mosley to give him some credit.

This is the same Mosley that fought Floyd and Pac. An over-the-hill Mosley no doubt but basically the same Mosley. From what I've read here, some fans have given
Floyd and Pac plenty of credit for beating a shot Mosley.

Who gives Pac any credit for beating Mosley? o_O In fact most don't give Mayweather any credit either...and then you remember that Mosley is going UP a weight and with out a win in 3 years...

The Mosley that fought Floyd and Pac was fighting at 147. This Mosley is fighting at 154. Even in his prime Mosley never did too good at 154 ( Vernon Forrest ). Mosley beat Mayorga at 154 but had problems, at 147 he would of beaten Mayorga easier. At 154 Mosley also fought Sergio Mora and didn't look good either.

At 154 Canelo should KO Mosley to get his props. :good

:deal Mosley is done, finito, acabado, only die hard Canelo's fan will give him credit for fighting an old shot fighter out of his prime weight, and still the WBC is ordering "semifinals" elimination between the best fighters at 154, what they want is to clear the path for Canelo so he can keep on fighting cab drivers and old men from lower weight divisions, he is the Champ, fight the best or move out of the way so the best fighters can fight for the belt, only Jr is as protected as Canelo, the kid has potential but common if they feel he is not ready for the major Leagues, just send him back to AAA until he is ready to fight the best...

If he pulls the trigger too soon he will have to deal with what Shane has left and that is his raw power, otherwise, I agree, he's shot and if Canelo takes him further into the mid-stage and end stretch, he can apply pressure and powerpunch. happens that Shane knows how to slide and put em outa of position with all his experience. Manny couldn't set him, Floyd only countered, Canelo only has a puncher's chance to knock him out so I expect a UD for the young lion Canelo.
