So do they actually have the power to do that without approval from the rest of Canada?

If majority of people in Quebec voted "yes" to separation on the referendum, they would be enabled to separate?

Yup, the rest of Canada have nothing to say about it. It's like if your girlfriend wants to leave, even if you have a child with her, you can try to convince her to stay, but that's about it.

Last referendum that's been held was in 1995, and the results were something like: YES 49% and NO 51%, but there have been a little "twist" that could be explained to you by the other Québécois who speak english better than me.

Ahh, IC! Very interesting! I didn't know it would simply be that easy!

I say leave it to the majority of the people: Put it up to vote if there's a big enough demand for it, and then if it passes, the people shall speak!

Most sports personalities don't want to touch this issue with a 10 feet pole because it's so polarizing. They need fans from each side, so really we don't know where they stand.

Pascal fought with nice looking fleur-de-lys (like in the Quebec flag) trunks one time though, I liked it :)

you people are ****ed. I have nothing against french people or Quebec. I just wish the Separatists would either leave for France or Canada would grow some balls and put them in prison, like America would do.

I love Quebec and the French, I ****ing hate The Separatists, like the majority of Canadians do as well. It just seems as though I'm the only one on this FORUM with the guts to say so.

And I'm glad the majority of Canadians arent like you people "let them leave, they should be able to". **** You.

Uh...no, it's nothing like that. It's like the child youve raised or the person youve helped support saying **** You to you. It's very ungrateful and traitorous. Karma will bite them on the ass though if they do Separate. They expect either France or Canada to help them become a completely sovereign nation. Neither will, and they would come crawling back to Canada. The Separatists are greedy people, and arrogant. But they just think they can say **** You to Canada and then expect Canada to help them separate? LOL. Good luck dummies.

OK, you have fully exposed your worthy political point of view about Québec separatists. Now, would you mind to stick to thread-related issues?!

in Quebec people thend to root for the quie underdog type of person hence why pascal will never be as popular as a quiet strait to the point type of person, its not about race even if some enjoy playing that card.

So maybe North America should consist of 61 Countries, including Mexico then, assuming every region that is different should be its own country, correct? Narrow minded people like me? Wait until the next traitorous act, I mean Referendum. My comments will be the least striking or controversial you'll see. Maybe pick up an old Toronto Star or Globe and Mail from the last one, and see the outpouring of emotion brought on by this.

Until then, My favourite country in the world is still Canada, all of it. You on the other hand, is your favourite country in North America Tennesee or Florida. I know, those two countries are VERY different, so you must have a favourite.

You sir clearly have no idea about cultural differences. And I suspect you simply regurgitate whatever you heard from other extremists who are afraid of change. You should try to look beyond appearances. Each coin has two sides if you know what I mean...
