Oscar did nothing the whole fight. He would only throw when they were clinched. he got severely outlanded and outboxed. Mayweather landed both cleaner and more effective punches. Edit: There were 2 other close rounds i thought Floyd edged out but wouldn't mind if somebody gave them to Oscar anything from 8-4 to 10-2 is fair imo.
You cant be serious Floyd landed more power punches then Oscar landed total punches so you whole one jab from floyd while oscar was this furious accurate machine is straight bs.
No one can agree on which 4 rounds De la hoya won because in reality he didn't clearly win a single round. He kept some rounds close but it was not a close fight by any stretch.
116-112 Mayweather. Oscar showed great aggression but produced very little results. Seemed to be a fairly easy win for Floyd.
8-4 Mayweather. People get so confused with ring generalship and effective aggression equating to just aggression. Mayweather landed the better shots and made De la Hoya miss. The judge that scored for De La Hoya was wrong. Effective aggression means just that - effective. Effective Aggression means landed punches and hard impactful punches. Doesn't matter if you're moving backwards of forwards. You go on clean landed shots to decide the winner of a round via effective aggression, then if you can't separate the fighters, who controls the round via being the ring general i.e. who makes the other guy miss the most, who makes the other guy fight his fight etc. Only if you can't choose the winner after taking effective aggression and ring generalship into account do you take into account pure aggression. De la Hoya was very purely aggressive but he was out done in the effective aggression department so lost the majority of the rounds. Simple. Mayeather.
close clear win for mayweather, 7-5 or 8-4 and you know one of the reasons why the fight was as close was because of dlh's size. he was significantly bigger, so mayweather was more cautious then usual.
Meanwhile Floyd was the only one with swelling This content is protected Check out his eye Oscar landed a **** load of bodyshots that somehow went uncredited. Floyd was landing ONE punch at a time until the 8th round approx. After that, sure he won the final QUARTER of the fight clearly. EVEN EMMANUEL STEWART SAID FLOYD WAS LOSING AND GOING TO LOSE IF HE DIDN"T STEP IT UP. And that he couldn't win this fight landing one punch and backing away. Oscar threw over 100 more punches and did outwork floyd. We all know Floyd has great defense but when they were both fresh, and oscar wasn't gassing, he was winning the fight by outworking Floyd.
