I don't think it's that important what the guarentees are when deciding a purse split. It's about revenue generated. If both fighters are bringing in similar revenue levels in their fights, then the purse split should be about equal.

IMO Pac should be earning almost as much as Floyd, but he doesnt. u cant expect a guy knowing he makes almost twice as much as you wanting to be on equal terms when its negotiation time. IMO if not 50/50, then they should each get double of what they usually earn.

Pacquiao at most makes 25 mil with PPV Floyd at least makes 32mil without ppv.

It doesn't work that way. If you do a 50/50 split, that means both sides will equally share the revenue. Because of their respective pay structures though, Mayweather will end up making more money. If Mayweather's numbers are on a similar level to Pacquiao's, I don't see the justification for demanding the much bigger split. I really don't see the justification for refusing to share in the ppv revenue. Pacquiao is a proven A side, ppv attraction. You can't cut guy like that out a ppv percentage.

If Pac or Oscar De La Hoya ain't there, then it ain't the largest purse.

This doesnt make sense.....Ive stayed pretty mute on the subject of splits until now.

The fact is this Mayweather generates more revenue. HBO vice president has come out on record and said Mayweather is the biggest PPV star they have.

Ben from Fighthype has also gone on record saying he saw the official figures for Pacquiao vs Cotto and they were NOT near 1.3 Million Bob Arum stated.

Even fat Dan has question the figures of this particular fight.

2011 Mayweather earned $40 Million for 1 fight, Manny earned $50 for 2 fights.

Mayweather is guaranteeing Cotto $8 Million and PPV on top! You tell me any opponent that got that kind of money against Pacquiao?

At the end of the day I want to see the fight as much as anyone but Oscar never gave anyone 50:50 Tito was a big draw and he didnt get it!

So I dont see why Floyd should give it.......sweeten the deal maybe.....offer $45 Million but I dont see why it should be a 50/50 split sorry.

were not talking aobut PPV numbers they generate, were talking about the $$$$$$ that goes in their pockets. and in that department floyd is doubling compared to what pacquiaos taking home. no way in hell i give a dude a chance to earn the same as me if he aint never seen the kind of money i bring home on the regular. this real life. people arent doing favors for nobody. though i do agree that pac should get some of the PPV revenue.
