You heard it here first! (unless, like me, you follow Fat Dan on Twitter)

@danrafaelespn: Just saw @SUPERJUDAH in the press room. Says he will face Marquez July 14 on PPV at Cowboys Stadium. #boxing

My birthday is set to be ****ing ace this year (should the Upton Park card be confirmed as I expect).

I don't think it's bad at all. The Pacquiao fight was never going to happen. Bradley, Khan and Peterson are all tied up. Mattysse would have been good, Rios better (I actually thought it was a done deal).

Don't forget, Zab could be chatting ****

According to the Sun today, Dudey was in line for that fight if he seen off Chop Chop tonight.

Either way JMM ****s him up :deal

What about Danny Garcia? In fact what about 135 where JMM would have very little problem getting back down to.

I wouldnt mind a fight such as this if it wasnt going to be marketed as a PPV (stateside). Sadly it will and people will be expected to shell out a decent amount for crud like this.

Does anyone give Judah the slightest chance here? If no then that is a clear cut sign of a poor fight. Im a Judah fan but after his lopsided loss againt Khan he hasnt done enough to warrant a big fight.

Marquez having to force the initiative = An at least somewhat taxing fight.

    In my opinion.

I think it's an alright match-up, circumstances(not a huge amount of other options) and styles taken into account. JMM really isn't that convincing when he has to go after his man, and I'd imagine Zab's gonna get on his bike a bit. I can't foresee it being particularly pleasing on the eye though.

I don't think many give Cotto a chance tonight, but it's a very good fight.

Anyway, I'd much rather see this than Danny Garcia. The poor lad would be beaten down hard!

Who would you rather him fight at 135? Abril? DeMarco? Vazquez?

The much better option would be an untested 140 version of Brandon Rios. Other than that, I can't see too many fights that would top this 1 given that everyone else is tied up

Interesting fight IMO and a potentially difficult one for Marquez.

As much as anything its a chance to see Mayweather, who is an ATG with perhaps a very small number of fights left. Personally I havent noticed much difference in the hype from Cotto v Mayweather than I have for the Ortiz fight.

You can say Rios is untested at 140 but he with his weight issues he looks a 140 lber all over.

I actually would like to see him face Maidana, whom whilst not a 147er, has genuine world class credentials at 140. Plus I still think JMM would smash him, but it would be entertaining. Judah v JMM has the awkward feel of JMM's last outing, which is not something worth seeing again. I just see this fight as JMM cruising to an unremarkable yet clear decision against a shot fighter.

I think you may be missing my point about Rios. He came in at what, 137 against Abril and looked horrible. I'm not even sure the extra 3 lb will make him all that more comfortable anymore. Regardless, I've already said I'd prefer that fight.

Maidana would be a good fight, but I've never been a massive fan. He was beaten fairly comfortably by Khan who was miles ahead before the 10th round, as in his last fight he was completely dominated by Alexander who it's a big Welter.

Good on JMM for staying active in what must be his last division.

I havent seen the whole fight but physically Alexander looked very good at 147, much strong and a division he will probably be more at home at now.

I just feel if we are going to be given a stay busy that it should be one where we will see a bit of a tear up for a few rounds and not an awkward and cagey affair. Given Judah is a name this will be marketed differently from JMM's last outing and so stateside atleast this I expect will be a PPV. I dont think the spectacle will match the promise.
