    Round 11

Uppercut by John. His work is getting sloppy now, just flapping at Kimura as he ducks his way inside. Lots of clinching and breaking. Monotonous, unpleasant action. Jab and overhand by John miss from outside. Kimura windmills his own right and actually clips John. Jabs by John get blocked. So does an overhand. Kimura wings a left hook up out of a crouch and hits John in the shoulder, then parlays it into a hold. Slick combo by John, lead left hook to the face and uppercut to the bottom of the chin coming forward. Overhand by John. Kimura backs up to the ropes, then comes forward with a couple of slapping hooks. Uppercut by John. Kimura holds. They wrestle in the middle of the ring, until John bashes free with an overhand. Kimura is tossing some uppercuts on the inside now. John answers in kind.

    Kimura's best round.

    109-99 John

    Round 12

Jabs and long rights by John. Kimura shoots in and holds. John slaps him on the cheek with a soft range-finding hook. Kimura clinches tightly, stalling as the ref orders a break. More wrestling, and John again bashes out with an overhand right. Kimura circles right, then reverses to get away from the ropes. John leads with right hands over the top, and Kimura tries to time his rises from a backward lean to catch hold of a stray arm. Uppercut by John, rocking Kimura. Clinch. BIG overhand right by John. Clinch. Jab/uppercut by John leaping in. Clinch. Right hand, left hook by John - both blocked. Clinch. Kimura tries to slap at John's head while holding him. John keeps throwing overhands to break free. Body shots by Kimura, ducking close. Clubbing right by John.

    10-9 John

    119-108 John

True, but he still didn't lose a round. (just a single point, on a questionable call)

I don't exactly want to give Kimura credit for being "tough", as my gut instinct is that he'd have been KTFO had he not spoiled so much - but at the end of the day you have to say he's some combination of tough & crafty to have survived that assault.
