Do the Mannyweight fights hurt Pacquiao's Resume?

Pac was unsure of Mosley specially when Pac was fresh from the Hatton fight, that's why his team pursued for 142. Same scenario with Cotto at 144. We cant blame these fighters because big money is at stake (**** arum) and Pac has to come up while cotto has to come down. In regards to why cotto gets the fight first, imo the cotto fight was already a done deal when mosley entered the scene.

With the Margo fight, it shouldnt have been a title fight.

 

Yes, in the long run it will hurt manny.
Too many catch weights for various reasons, against various opponents, when he displayed he can make the weight of 150 which he did for a paper title.
I'm truly surprised that no one brings that up.
He should only have the marg fight on record for being a catch weight, all others should have been at the max weight for the weight class he was fighting in

this is ******ed and just plain hating. those catchweight fights are just circumstances and product of pacquiao being a little man moving up in weight.

first the hoya fight which was done at 147. do you actually think that pac shoudl have fought oscar at 154? if you say so, then you are a ******. pac just moved up from 130 and has only one fight at 135. so you are saying that pac should ahve fought oscar at 154 jumping 3 divisions instead of two? and remember that oscar is supposed to be fighting floyd a 2nd time at 147 but floyd backed-out and oscar has no choice but to cherry-pick a SFW/LW in pacquiao. and before the fight, oscar was a clear favorite to stop this version of pacquiao. does it hurt his resume? only if you're a hater or an idiot.

second the cotto fight, pac came back to LWW after fighting oscar at WW. just weighed 138 against hatton and would fight the first real WW (oscar was considered by most as a fluke and not a real WW) in cotto who weighed 146 in his last fight against clottey. regarding th circumstance, 145 is a good concession for both parties with pac moving up 7 pounds (138 to 145) while cotto moving down 1 pound (146 to 145). also pac was considered only as a slight favorite and ESB has it as a pick-em fight. doe sit hurt his resume? only if you're a hater once again and an idiot.

third, the margarito fight. margarito who fought most of his career at WW has moved-up to LMW after suspension. margarito is one of the eilte WWs when the weight division was waxing hot back in 2005-2009. the fight was made as to ake pac an 8 division champion at catchweight of 150. margarito is not a ranked LMW so this fight would only credit pac for fighting a named fighter in margarito and not so much for the 8th title. but credit still since pac only weighed 144 whil margo weighed 150. there is around 17 pounds of difference come fight night (pac 148 and margo 165) and yet pac battered margo and fought him head-on. if cotto was getting credit for beating margarito, pac should get credit as well. is it bad for resume, it's a good win and should not hurt his resume.

 

You can say all that. But both fighters should be able to fight up to the MAXIMUM weight limit for the belt or fight you are trying to win, or in reality you are not fighthing to the weight limit protocol.

IMO it has to damage his legacy, not that in the future people will remember the smaller details.

But the true Fans and the people from the Era will.

can't fight cotto at 147, but margo at 150 is OK...then, again, can't fight cotto at anything over 147 after cotto moved up...winning his 154 "title" against a guy who did nothing for a few years, was never a quality fighter at 154, and at 150...of course that hurts him


that being said, it doesn't erase what he did at lighter weights


it's kinda sad really...he missed out on some really big things by chasing paper belts and playing weight games

 

may i ask you questions? did ortiz hurt his resume when he beat berto? did marquez hurt his resume when he beat (according to some fans) pacquiao in the third fight? did pavlik hurt his resume when he beat taylor again a second time?

 

you are just a ****** if you think that those wins hurt his resume. he was moving up. it's like saying margarito and clottey were really middleweights since they are fighting as middleweights during fight night.
