Was anyone else surprised Canelo is the 3rd highest rated, active fighter on compubox

They showed the top four during the live weigh-in yesterday. He is only behind Floyd and Andre Ward. I know he hasn't had any great competition yet but I was a little surprised. Plus, he is still only 21 years old.

It was Floyd, then Ward, Canelo, and Vitali was 4th. It was just active fighters, and I believe it said you had to have 5 or 10 fights minimum. :think

Canelo could be the next face in boxing. Could go 50-0. So talented and young, with alot of experiece. I think he will stop mosley tonight tho. Im hoping it turned into a war. I hope mosley goes on his sheild and doesnt embarasses himself tonight.

Yes, I think Floyd was +30%, Ward +15%, and Canelo about +10%. Of course, I imagine they use every fight they have ever had recorded by compu-box. Manny's % is probably much better in the last 5 years than his entire career.

Well I guess you can say that but when 3 of the top 4 are Floyd, Ward, and Vitali, it may stand for something.

I agree Canelo is likely to stop him. Yes, hopefully Shane doesn't try and just survive.

If my last two fights were against Matthew Hatton and Ryan Rhodes then I would be number one on compubox.

These stats are pointless when one punch can change a fight.

It is your connect % minus the % of punches you get hit with. So Floyd lands 46% of his punches and only gets hit with 16% thrown at him.

Really I don't think of those guys as volume punchers ..What the hell are they counting :huh It doesn't take a team of guys to count their punches ..

It's counting efficiency. Punches landed against your opponent, minus the percent of punches they land against you.

Ha ha yeah I know , but the point was that Matthew and Ryan are not exactly the best 154 lbs fighters in the world and that Canelos stats should be good againt those two.

Yes, I agree. Be interesting to see where he ranks in the next 4 to 5 years.
