And how much Cotto weighs on every fight night at WW?

I could have agreed with you in every sense had boxers been weighed in the same fight day.

So why fight at welterweight if you need catchweights against the best guys?

They don't hurt his resume terribly, but they don't make it any stronger IMO

    same questions to you...

did ortiz hurt his resume when he beat berto?

did marquez hurt his resume when he beat (according to some fans) pacquiao in the third fight?

did pavlik hurt his resume when he beat taylor again a second time?

I'm glad you ask because I am one of the ones who don't give Ortiz full credit for the catchweight. Same with Pavlik.

They all felt they needed to take away any advantages, perhaps?

and what happened next when the big guys made weight comfortably? do they hurt their resume too since they were fighting smaller guys or it only applies to smaller guys?

Of course it hurts their resume. Why wouldn't it? Either fight at the full weight or don't. Simple really.

Pacquiao has only 2 catchweight fights in his resume. As if pac has been fighting at catchweights since the dawn of time.

And catchweights are done to in order for two fighters in different weight division to meet halfway or on and agreed, stipulated weight. And if there's a title on the line, it is still subject to the boxing organization's approval, with or without ESB consent, ffs.

But he killed fights because of catchweight demands too. Ran from Mosley, took on Bradley instead of a full strength Cotto because he wanted Miguel to drain back down.

Look at Miguel last night at the weigh in, looked pretty good, now just imagine 8 more lbs off of that. Gross

and you want pacquiao bulk up to 154? you know pacquiao's maximum weigh-in day weight is at 144-146 and maximum fightnight weight is at 150.

Yeah Cotto would really look good but pac wont.

Different story on Floyd, because Floyd is bigger than Pacquiao.
