Round 1

Dirks stuffs a few jabs into Ulrich's face. Ulrich circles left, pops a few jabs into Dirks' pinned arms, and then nosedives into him to hold. Ulrich is circling and doubling his jab. Dirks follows, lands a jab, eats a counter right, and sneaks a left hook to the ribs. Good back and forth, cat and mouse game. STIFF jab by Dirks, and a big right hand over the top. That made Ulrich blink in pain. Another stiff jab by Dirks, countering over Ulrich's. Left hook, right hand combo to the guard by Ulrich. Body shots by Ulrich while dancing around, but Dirks is dropping his elbows to pick them off. Left hook by Ulrich, caught on the back of the glove as Dirks covers up. Ulrich is busy, circling and jabbing - not scoring cleanly.

Round 2

Ulrich slaps out some left hooks while coasting around in a neverending spiral of the center ring with Dirks. More shots by Ulrich, more forceful and better placed shots by Dirks. Mostly just trading jabs, a few straights from the rear hand. Ulrich is caught with a little flurry at the bell.

20-18 Dirks

 

Round 3

Ulrich hurt early with a right. He circles around and tries to lob jabs in from outside, but Dirks is rotating in step with him and landing his own jabs. Rights to the body by Dirks, as Ulrich is watching his jab. Left hook by Dirks! Ulrich's face is badly bruised already, and bleeding from a nick by the corner of his right eyelid. Combo by Dirks, finishing with an uppercut and then fading left out of the pocket as Ulrich swings back at nobody. Ulrich tries to summon up some swagger, shimmying left and right and getting his jab rolling as he circles. Dirks whacks him with a long right hand over a jab.
