I don't care what Pac weighs in at. As long as Cotto doesn't weigh over 154 there shouldn't have been a problem. Pac fought Margarito weighing in at 144.

No idea what you mean with the Floyd comment? I hated the CW fight with Marquez and hardly gets any credit for that one.

weights are just arbitarary numbers. there is no magical formula or guide that a boxer naturally weighs at specific stops like 140, 147, 154, 160 etc....

catchweights are made so that two boxers from two separate weight class would fight on a fair terms and to avoid a bigger size discrepancy.

I give very little credit to Hopkins for beating Oscar.

They fought within the limits of the weightclass.

It's not that big a deal really.

The welter weight limit is 147 lbs.

If you weight 140.01, basically you are a welterweight.

So if they fought Cotto at 145, it's a welterweight title fight and a legit win.

You can apply the same logic to the Margo fight as well.

It's a big enough deal to not go through with the fights, apparently.

As i've said, Pacquiao has no business going above 147, after the Margo fight. He almost got KOd in the 6th and carried the brunt of those Margo body punches up until now.

Even before the Hatton fight, Pac said that fighting at 147 is a very difficult task, thats why he was reluctant on getting above 140 back then.,

Technically true. But some of us here insist that a boxing fight is only fought at the weight limit.

Oh lord  So he got hit with a few punches that he didn't like so he decided to never do it again?

Did Pac forget this isn't badminton sometime in the last 5 years?

those punches were no kindergarten punches bro. a 148-lb guy gets hit by a 165-lb guy would make you **** blood.

Oh wait, I forgot. you were assuming that Pac and Margo were at the same weight on fight night? Yeah. this isnt badminton.

None. Chavez was out of his best fight weight. Had it been at 140 it would have been perfect

it doesnt help it....ODLH started at 130 and didnt fight a catchweight fight until he was fighting Hopkins way up a middleweight and has fought a slew of champions who started at higher weights, Mayweather, Mosley, Jones, other fighters as well.....its kinda hard to give him full credit with so many stipulations...so many contemporaries and past fighters have moved up without all the stipulations Manny has had past 130

Are you just going to keep asking about random fights  Oscar didn't beat Hopkins, nor would he ever beat Hopkins on his best day.

If you don't agree it hurts the resume, it's all good. I just disagree.
