i'm testing if you are consistent. at least you are. some guys would not give credit to pac because of hate but would give credit to other fighters who fought and won at catchweight.

again, hypothetically, if oscar had beaten hopkins in their fight, would you give him credit or not?

He didn't fight the guys where they were most comfortable, so of course. Pac would have gotten a lot more credit fighting Margo at 154 or Marquez at 140, but he didn't

When I look at a match up,I ask do they have the best version of that particular fighter... As far as weight, are they at their natural,or comfortable weight..
In this case Floyd is facing the healthier Cotto, people say 2 pounds does not mean anything, well if it does not mean anything it would not be demanded

ODLH had one catchweight fight period until fighting Pac-Man at 147 where he didnt belong.....it doesnt help sad to say...

...Most guys are amatuers when they are 16 and look at most of todays fighters and check their weights when they were that age...by the time their body matures they gain 10-20 pounds...Manny was always a natural featheweight once he was a man....once things got better notice how he jumped two divisions from 112-122...plus your body matures its natural he was in his early 20's, hell

.....When he won the vacant WBC belt, neither were ranked at the weight, Margarito was just thoroughly beaten never looked good past 147...it wasnt impressive at all....its when he beats guys that affects his legacy, been a long time since he beat a fighter coming off a huge win

:deal has to be considered...Cotto looked really dehydrated when they fought...his head looked huge, his complexion off, at 145 come on...why just couldnt come in at 147

Not as much as people would think.

The Cotto bout was a catchweight bout, it didn't affect Cotto much, if any...and this IMO is one of his (Pacquiao's) best wins.

    I have to disagree.

Margarito didn't deserve that bout full stop. Pacquiao gets credit for his performance in beating a much bigger man, but that's were the credit stops. Like I said, Marg didn't deserve that at all.

Marquez showed that he belonged in the ring with Pacquiao at 147lbs. I'm not one of these people who believes Pacquiao can still make Lightweight with ease. He has grown in to WW, and has added muscle. In turn, he would have to cut muscle to have any chance of making 135lbs. As for 140lbs, Pacquiao simply doesn't have to cut weight if he doesn't want to. He obviously feels comfortable at WW now, and he can dictate the weight he wants to fight at. It was Marquez chasing the bout afterall.

Looks virtually the same. Slightly more definition at Pacquiao weigh in. This does not mean he is dehydrated.

well personally, I just feel like he would have been given more credit if he went down to fight Marquez and let Margo fight at 154.
