Cotto gave floyd one of his toughest fights ever. I would say only the Castillo, and maybe Burton fights were tougher. I think he did better then Oscar did because he was hurting floyd more and had his nose busted up. I do think floyd won 7-5 at the worst and more like 8-4 but it was a great fight and the fans would love a rematch.
No rematch needed. Cotto gave it his all and really got up for this one. This fight probably took something out of him that he wont get back.
It would be good to see but I can't see why Mayweather would do it to be honest. I mean, what's in it for him exactly?
neh, not contraversial enough. gave him a tough fight but clearly lost and was ready to go in the 12th
no rematch. it was a close but clear decision. Cotto was clearly beaten - but he was close in every round. The scores reflect the flaw in the marques queensberry system- but it is what it is. Floyd deserved the win- and would win every time. Cotto had the heart and the tactics- but not the stamina and talent to sustain it with the precision he needed to really beat Floyd. Nevertheless- he put up a briliant showing- and deserves big money fights in the future- he s still a p4p player. i hope he continues his success. to be the 3rd best welter in the world after floyd and pac is no shame. i think a match with cotto vs the winner of berto/ortiz or the winner of khan/peterson would be a classic in either case. Or even against Bradley should he lose against pac. theres alot of great fights left without a rematch - that i would prefer to see. i ve seen this movie- new ones would be more interesting.
no need for a rematch... cotto didn't do well enough to even make it close...mayweather didn't destroy cotto by any means.. but he surely did dominate him
No need. Cotto can't sustain the type of work rate necessary to win in12. He was doing great there midroinds and had Floyd flustered then all of a sudden he just kinda stopped pressing. Typical Cotto, don't think I've ever seen him finish a fight strong.
