    Angles.

Cotto couldn't see Pac's punches coming. He admitted it in the post fight interview. Floyd's punches didn't have the same effect because Cotto saw the punches coming.

Despite all the bull**** and the bickering from everyone, Pac brings something to the table that very few fighters can. Angles and punches that are not easy to dodge. And despite that fact that people say he has no defense, he got hit less against Cotto and Mosley than Floyd did.

Floyd didn't toy with Cotto, Pac did.

I agree about the angles, but I also believe cotto was weight drained and weak.

It also helps that Floyd went up to Cotto's weight.

But don't let details get in the way.

While I agree, Cotto was also very ill-prepared for that fight. A guard with elbows far too out, balance far too distributed on the front foot, and footwork far too linear made it much easier for Pacquiao to move to his left and right while throwing an array of blistering, oddly-angled punches. Despite Cotto's lack of a corner/trainer in camp, the way Manny picked him apart was very impressive. Lots of haters like to dismiss the skills of all kinds of fighters, including Manny, but offensively and defensively, he's without question an ATG.

Cotto couldn't deal with Pacquiao's power.

Cotto weighed 1 pound less against pacquiao than his previous fight against Clottey but don't let details get in the way.

Cotto was not weight drained against Pacquiao, he was just taking too many explosive shots from unusual angles. He did not see them coming.

You don't seem too clear on 'details.'

When Pac fought Cotto, Cotto had never fought above 147.

In Cotto's previous fight (Clottey) he weighed in at 146.

For Pac, he weighed in at 145.

Some fans might not like it, but Pacquiao matches up better with certain fighters than Mayweather does (and vice versa). It shouldn't be surprising, but inevitably a number of people will rip you for this pulling out cliches like "Mayweather has better defense and skills" as if that alone tells the entire story as to how these guys match up with common fighters. Not everything in this sport is a concrete/fail-proof formula. Way too many variables to account for.

Pac also went up in weight while making Philippine laws. Cotto looked fat in this fight's weigh-in, in Pac fight he looked ripped and in the best shape of his life. Also, Cotto was already demolished by Pac before the fight today.

Don't accuse others of not disclosing details when you yourself don't tell the whole truth. :deal

Cotto went from Mike Tyson of the WW division to a guy that really lost his power.

Speed, Power, Angles, and combination punches.

    I agree with this.

However, I do think Cotto was stronger for FLoyd and I do think having thicker gloves takes away from FLoyd's ability to use his favorite weapon...Straight-Right....and it helps Cotto's defense because its a bigger shield.

However, the above mentioned for what Pac brings to the table does say a lot no matter what.

If you can hurt Cotto and keep him hurt...its an easier fight.

Mike Tyson my ass. A Philippine senator who could easily fight in the lightweight division punches harder than he does. Eff off. :patsch

Cotto was never a big puncher at 147. Certainly doesn't warrant Mike Tyson comparisons, who was absolutely vicious and a better fighter than any guy currently campaigning in the sport.
