If Cotto had the stamina of an elite swarmer, like JC Chavez or Marciano, for example, he would not have taken off rounds 5 and 6, and gassed in rounds 9, 10, 11 and 12. The fight would have been that much closer. His plan was to pressure, and his stamina would not let him execute it.

Cotto has never been a swarmer anyway. That's NEVER been his style.

A guy like Duran....... now HE could have given Floyd SERIOUS trouble with his style. Serious trouble being an understatement, as I think Duran would have beaten the Hell outta Floyd.

Xplosive, you're misunderstanding my post. I am not saying Cotto is a swarmer. I am saying he tried to adopt a swarming style against Floyd. But did not have the stamina to maintain the aggression required. He was somewhat successful and was able to win a couple rounds, and made others close. But against an elite fighter like Floyd, it would take an elite swarmer to pull it off. I think we are both saying the same thing.

 

Lol, what if Margarito was as slick as Whitaker. and has the power of Hearns. That would be awesome, plaster and power for the kill.

I gave all 3 of the championship rounds to Floyd, and there's a reason why they're called the championship rounds, Cotto just didn't have enough in the tank to cope with Mayweather and that's that.
