I can't remember exactly which round, but it was the round Cotto started coming on strong. Mayweather was hitting him with baby like punches. Completely no weight on them, he could get through clean but there was nothing on the shots so Cotto started walking through them. I thought at the time, he's going to get walked down and beat up if he can't put more than that on his punches. The next round he started moving more and then started putting weight on his shots again after that, it was quite strange. I've only watched it once live so I maybe wrong, did anyone else notice this? I'll watch again later
No one? Another thing I noticed was Cotto got bruised around the left side of his head very early, could be weight drained a little? Even at 154?
I actually thought Cotto hurt Mayweather in the 6th(?) round. Ironically a leaping left hook was the punch, I believe, at the start of the round. This started all of the success in that round, and Mayweather's legs looked to have stiffened. I know this has no relevance to your thread question, but I couldn't find another thread
Yeah, I caught that. He followed it up a few seconds later with some good body work. There was a comment that Mayweather was throwing those arm punches to lure Cotto in. Mayweather seemed to be using both hands comfortably enough later on.
OMG I NOTICED IT TO.. me and my friend were like "wtf is he doing..." he seemed so lethargic i suppose he needed a round to coast and thought he would atleast give the impression he is throwing to keep cotto a little worried but its def something iv never seen mayweather do
Aye, agreed. I'll rewatch it, but that shot looked to have troubled Mayweather, definitely stalled his momentum and gave Cotto confidence to push Mayweather back on to the ropes after that.
