WBO president Francisco Valcarcel said on his organisation’s website this week that it had not sanctioned the bout.

But Garrie Francisco, a member of Geale’s management team, believed an agreement with the WBO could be reached over the unification fight, even if it meant step aside money being paid to the winner of the Bursak-Njikam bout.
Francisco is convinced a fight between Sturm and Geale is almost inevitable.

“Providing he stays on top of the mountain, Sturm is a given at some stage of the next 12 months,” Francisco said.

That pisses me off, he wouldn't be skipping anything since Unification is supposed to supersede a mandatory according to their own rules.... which they're ignoring as per usual. Corrupt ****s.

Geale is a good fighter/boxer, but he is a bore. His PPV fighting in tassie must have been a business flop. How many buys did it sell vs promotion.

He has name dropped for a while now with no action. He talks like he is the one in the box seat. Boxing is a show, and Geale needs to sell his game much better. Whilst I am sure there are offers from Strum and co they would be weighted in their favor.

Geale best option is to chase a fight with Mundine. Has a very good shot winning and is a good money fight. It would lift his profile in Australia ala Green and move him foward. Its all well and good to be a nice guy/good bloke but this is boxing, the hurt game, action and a story line puts bums on seats and sells PPV.

Nice plan, problem is Mandy is a boxing nobody.

There's that many titles around winning one doesn't guarantee anyone will want to fight you. Even unification fights aren't jumped at.

what did Geale make from his PPV is Tasmania? After paying Shaw and the other Grange guys, outlay on venue and promotion, outlay on Main Event production costs?

He may not have mande anything.

A Mundine fight sells in Australia. It sells and makes money. This is prize fighting.
