why does he feel the need to make excuses? hes got a lot of goodwill for his performance last night. it just sounds like he cant entertain the idea that he's in decline and wasnt able to dominate like he's used to doing. he stayed on the ropes because he no longer has the stamina to move for all 12 rounds. a 35 year old floyd is a lot more stationary than the 25 year old floyd and hes had to adapt to this and change his strategy to keep performing at the highest level. hes walked down his opponents for 3 fights in a row, thats no coincidence. he chose not to box because he's lost a step and cant keep it up for 12 rounds.
hes always had excellent gameplans and fought in the most efficient manner possible to get the win. hes never changed his gameplan to entertain the fans, very few boxers do that and the ones that do end up on their ass sooner or later.

Everyone's opinion will change when they watch the fight again. Floyd dominated Miguel and if he wouldve boxed him he wouldve knocked him out.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2xZvZaiQMA[/ame] This is what Floyd is talking about right here. If Floyd had gave Cotto movement all night it would have been easy. Floyd's legs are not gone at all but he doesn't move like the younger days but still moves well. Again this is what Floyd is talking about.

He didn't "choose" to fight with Cotto. He had no choice. At his age he can't afford to dance around like be used to, and so has to stand his ground more and punch to deter people. Cotto took him there and he had to grind it out. This is a man who constantly tells us he isn't in this sport to be hit. So why, after having his nose bust up, would he choose to stand and trade more? He didn't box safely because Cotto wouldn't let him.

In the 12th i thought he could have wnet for a KO or at least a KD...even Manny Steward said he backed off when he could have got it for whatever reason.

He did lay on the ropes at times and stayed there when he didn't have to, none the less he still did a great job even then.

True to a degree. Floyd could have spun out and got back to the center of the ring several times. I loved the fight and I really loved the infighting that both guys came with. Every time he gave Cotto movement it was pretty easy for him to be honest. Cotto cut the ring off pretty good though and as soon as Floyd stopped movement the fight was back on.

It´s true even if you don´t like him you have to admitt that he chose to fight Cotto´s fight and still beat him. Many here are saying that Floyd got exposed or some **** but he fought Cotto´s fight and beat him because he wanted the fight to be exciting

When Roach first said his legs aren't the same and others followed suit, I called it bull****. But last night confirmed it and made me change my mind. Understandably, he can't dance around like he used to. He's doing what great fighters are supposed to do - adapting his style as his body is changing.

But it was a good fight. Cotto put up a brilliant effort. Pushed him to the limit.

The infighting was the bomb for me. Floyd was sneaking in some good shots to the body and Cotto gave him some back in return. Great clean fight. It seemed like a long sparring session to me. That **** looked a lot like that sparring session with Omar at times.

The limit? Really Rico? He won 3 rounds. Only landed 70 power punches. And Floyd still coasted him at the end. If floyd was at his limit he would not have been clowning with lampley and stweard post fight. Besides a bloody nose did he look physically weathered?

Mayweather had the sweeping right hand in his bank any time he wanted to. He could have stayed back and threw that punch all fight.
