Floyd had very little choice in the matter.

    HE CHOSE?

    WTF?

Cotto pressed Floyd into the ropes, and that was not Floyd's choosing

The point is Mayweather could have used WAY more movement in the fight and make Cotto chase him A LOT more then he did. Instead he stood his ground majority of the time inviting the inside fight.

Ask yourself if Mayweather really wanted to use movement the fight would look more like Margo-Cotto with Cotto looking to escape and run while having Margo chase him down all over the ring. Or Khan vs Peterson. There was no Cotto chasing Mayweather all over the ring forcing an inside fight. I saw a lot of Mayweather inviting Cotto for the inside fight.

Cotto had no answer like most fighters for the jab or feint to the body and looping right over the top. But he went of the KO and was looking to land that uppercut to hurt Cotto which is why he invited the inside fighting.

Cotto did an excellent job for the most part defending against that uppercut which is the punch that Mayweather really really wanted. Cotto also did an excellent job of only using straights up top and hooks on the bottom on the inside. Cotto rarlely through any hooks or wide punches when pressuring Mayweather on the ropes to the head. Everything was short and compact. That gave Mayweather a hard window to counter.

Because he wanted the KO. He didn't think Cotto would have the gas in the tank to have the fight go the way it did. If Mayweather could do it over he would probably look to save a little more energy earlier in the fight.

It was intense stuff, Cotto ain't a mug, Floyd won with his superior skills but Cotto did the best he could a great fight and no need for Floyd to mouth off after the event, both fighters were awesome.

All those saying Floyd is lying, think about this. He moved just fine in the 11th and 12th. Used his legs like the Hatton/ Baldomir fight and basically hit Cotto at will, stunned and started hurting Miguel in the 12th.

If a 35 year old man could do it that late in a grueling fight, you have to use logic and think he could have BEEN doing that earlier. Just an observation.

I agree, although "easy" maybe a slight exageration.

I only saw from round 5 onwards (will watch the fight in a little while), but whenever Mayweather was in the middle of the ring he was dominating the exchanges. I don't really understand why he chose to fight against the ropes for such a long period of time..
